This is where we discuss Ghostace's "More Fish"

For a few days I was too tempted to slot this as an appendage to Fishscale, but this is a different entity: more facile lyrically but denser musically; tougher, with a couple of drug songs that might have worked on a Raekwon album circa 1995; and more compassionate. Trife is a worthy foil, if no Raekwon. Stunning tracks (the Ghost-in-Hollywood narrative "Alex," the tender "Josephine") sit next to several retreads ("Guns n Razorz," "Greedy Bitches").

wait, so is this actually worth hearing...? cuz I shared yr cash-in skepticism... otoh Ghost has never released an album I don't like (altho Bulletproof Wallets is generally low on my listenin list)

I once thought as you. Now I regret I didn't hear this before I turned in my year-end ballots.

hmm perhaps I will get. I owe him an album purchase anyway, since I never paid for my copy of Fishscale... yes I feel guilty about these kinds of things...

It's much better than something called More Fish deserves to be.

And I know it's a pretty solid record but I can't stop cracking up at "Outta Town Shit" when the newscaster mentions a shooting in "downtown Minnesota"

Ghostface is always on-point. The only time he released something sub-par was Bulletproof Wallets, but that was due to sample clearance (or a lack thereof).
