In my ears now, Blue Nile, first demo. IN my ears. Fuck the goddamn sandbox.

Were Blue Nile a demo band for Linn speakers much as The League Unlimited Orchestra are for Richer Sounds?

JohnFoxxsJuno (JohnFoxxsJuno), Tuesday, 19 December 2006 02:03 (seventeen years ago) link

Pretty much, yeah. Linn created a record label just for the Blue Nile, which was kind of nice of them.

zappi (zappi), Tuesday, 19 December 2006 10:07 (seventeen years ago) link

er, "i love this life"

zappi (zappi), Tuesday, 19 December 2006 10:10 (seventeen years ago) link

Don't think it has, presumably for RSO legal-related reasons.

Marcello Carlin (nostudium), Tuesday, 19 December 2006 10:11 (seventeen years ago) link

it was a b-side along w/ its b-side ("the second act") to the first single from their last album

RJG (RJG), Tuesday, 19 December 2006 13:02 (seventeen years ago) link

and this bimble... guy

RJG (RJG), Tuesday, 19 December 2006 13:03 (seventeen years ago) link

"I Would Never" / "I Love This Life" / "The Second Act" (Sanctuary, 2004)

RJG (RJG), Tuesday, 19 December 2006 13:03 (seventeen years ago) link

Trust Sanctuary to rescue them.

"IN my ears"?

strange ol' bimble.

temporary enrique (temporary enrique), Tuesday, 19 December 2006 13:05 (seventeen years ago) link

I used to have 'I love this life' on a C120 but it snapped.

leigh (leigh), Tuesday, 19 December 2006 13:20 (seventeen years ago) link

Was it one of those old Certron "3 for 99p" C120s?

Marcello Carlin (nostudium), Tuesday, 19 December 2006 13:23 (seventeen years ago) link

Probably, i didn't get much pocket money as a nipper.

leigh (leigh), Tuesday, 19 December 2006 14:18 (seventeen years ago) link

strange ol' bimble.

Hey, why be normal? That's boring. :)

Bimbler (Sourkraut), Tuesday, 19 December 2006 23:39 (seventeen years ago) link

bimble rocks.

the blue nile are occasionally magnificent, although i do need to listen to them more.

grimly fiendish (simon), Tuesday, 19 December 2006 23:54 (seventeen years ago) link

wow i never knew the pre-ROOFTOPS single came out again in 2004 !!
i've never heard it. oh man i haven't listened to TINSELTOWN IN THE RAIN in like a decade.

is 'I LOVE THIS LIFE' any good? is it like the ROOFTOPS stuff?

piscesboy (piscesboy), Wednesday, 20 December 2006 12:48 (seventeen years ago) link

It's quite bouncy and upbeat in the vein of 'stay' if i remember correctly.

leigh (leigh), Friday, 22 December 2006 14:17 (seventeen years ago) link

Yeah I was gonna say, Piscesboy don't worry too much about any link or lack thereof with their first album, for "I Love This Life" (and its equally essential b-side "The Second Act") is both like their first album and not quite like it either.

IT DOESN'T MATTER GET IT NOW. Don't wait. Don't hesitate.

That goes for you, too, grimly. To quote Simply Red "the speed is everything".
