I only own "Gord's Gold," but I really appreciate his songwriting and warmth. Interesting that some of his first U.S. supporters were in the Nashville community -- Marty Robbins with "Ribbon of Darkness," etc.

love all his hits, especially "sundown." haven't dug much deeper, despite owning a couple of collections.

Sundown and the If You Could Read My Mind are great. I don't know anything beyond Gord's Gold though, and don't really like everything on that.

Vincent Gallo used Lightfoot's music to great effect in The Brown Bunny...

the collections are not so good, because there's a huge drop-off in quality in the mid/late 70s and they always feel compelled to include tedious, badly produced songs from the 80s.

i have the 'united artists' collection, which has his complete first 4 albums on 2 discs. along with a couple other early albums, it's all you need! absolutely classic, needless to say.
