Are you already in India? Because if you aren't, these would be cds you are taking to India.

i always bring the same cds with me when i travel and they are tnt by tortoise and a hard day's night, although i think that baby ford's basking in the brakelights may be joining the club.

i feel like bringing any gybe with me to an unfamiliar place would weigh too heavily on the experience. i just want music to facilitate the trip, not overwhelm it.

Take the West Side Story soundtrack.

Oh and when you're there, sneer about how Himesh Reshammiya has too nasal a voice and hasn't done anything good since 2005; that seems to be the cool Indian critic thing to do. (NB: This might have changed in the last few weeks or days.)

Forget about CDs, people are in desperate need of guess papers over there.

I listened to a lot of DJ Shadow (specifically Preemptive Strike) the times I was in India. I know I brought other cds when visiting but I can't remember which. Also these dodgy compilation tapes that my little sister had of the Grammys and things that she had bought in the markets.

The way I read the thread title first, I thought you were planning on bringing all these CDs to India a la Prometheseus and fire or . Which seemed rather ambitious. I'd bring some Alban Berg or Brahms perhaps, as well as some John Fahey. But if I were IN India, I'd get me some more Kishore Kumar and R D Burman. So good!

Heh, I haven't actually listened to the album yet, nor have I listened to much of her stuff before, but I was curious. I'm just going to be playing it for myself in any case;)
