Every Rock star has an Ideal Iconic Death Age (or IIDA), a specific time in their career when their death would have the most iconic resonance. Generally the longer a Rock star lives, the less iconic they are. 27 years of age seems to be the exact right number for alot of our Rock stars. Cobain, Hendrix, Morrison, Joplin all cashed in their chips at this age. 27 seems to be the age where you are still almost considered young, but also have acheived enough to have produced the material need to hold the attention of Rock fans.
Ofcourse this age varies from one rock star to the next. John Lennon for instance, if he would have died at 27 we would have no 'I am the Walrus' 'Come Together' 'Revolution' or 'Imagine'. Then again the world never would have heard of Yoko Ono either.
