here's what the Trouser Press said about Sally Shoe..."Amateur sound collagist Scott Philly sent us this in a polka dotted shoe box and we should have guessed what it would sound like.Well,we would of been wrong.Using whole snatches of current TV weirdo Sally Jesse Raphaels interview with a panel of fashion designers,Sally tries to tell truths about her audience by the style of shoe they wear.The joke is on Sally as SPhilly rewinds and fast fowards her almost inhuman cackling,spitting,choking,demon inflected laughter and commentary with one designers fey comments about hapless middle amerikans style sense.The result is nothing short of ODD,that's regular odd with capital letters.A mirror held up to society is often an ugly excercise,but when the listener is in on the premise at least the ugliness is tempered with humor...1988"
