If Grimly Fiendish books his ticket now, he'll get a child's return to Tokyo as he's staggeringly drunk and trying not to get kebab down hisself

stet (stet), Friday, 8 December 2006 00:59 (eighteen years ago) link

That would work too:

1/29/2007 Tokyo, Japan Club Quattro

:)

Blaze the Violet Flame (nu_onimo), Friday, 8 December 2006 01:03 (eighteen years ago) link

I'm sure he has mastered the art of not making an arse of himself on the internet while drunk by now.

pfunkboy (Kerr), Friday, 8 December 2006 01:29 (eighteen years ago) link

I hope.

pfunkboy (Kerr), Friday, 8 December 2006 06:31 (eighteen years ago) link

Of course he managed to miss Jesu when they played with Isis in Glasgow.

pfunkboy (Kerr), Friday, 8 December 2006 08:19 (eighteen years ago) link

Do you ever sleep?

Blaze the Violet Flame (nu_onimo), Friday, 8 December 2006 11:20 (eighteen years ago) link

that's a bit rude!

RJG (RJG), Friday, 8 December 2006 11:56 (eighteen years ago) link

I kept waking up and looking at ilx is the best way to get me back to sleep..
Had to get up at 8am anyway.

pfunkboy (Kerr), Friday, 8 December 2006 11:59 (eighteen years ago) link

that's a bit rude!

Was it? I didn't mean it to be.

Maybe this screen name is adding an aggressive tone to my messages.

Blaze the Violet Flame (nu_onimo), Friday, 8 December 2006 12:17 (eighteen years ago) link

The question is, is Simon hungover?

pfunkboy (Kerr), Friday, 8 December 2006 12:18 (eighteen years ago) link

sorry, Blaze the Violet Flame--I was the rude one

RJG (RJG), Friday, 8 December 2006 12:42 (eighteen years ago) link

ey up, funsters. "hungover" would be one way of putting it. after i left the mini-FAP i intended to go home, but i bumped into a friend and went to a club at a hotel on the other side of town. i remember i was carrying a plastic chair when i got there; today i've discovered a (brand new, clean, unworn) pair of "red torpedo" men's underpants, in a tin, in my pocket.

i suppose that shows i had a good night, or something.

given that i spent all my money on booze, i'm not sure i'm gonna go all the way to the US to see isis. WHY AREN'T THEY COMING HERE?

grimly fiendish (simon), Friday, 8 December 2006 15:35 (eighteen years ago) link

Because they love us here, being the most wonderful country in the history of the world ever.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Friday, 8 December 2006 15:39 (eighteen years ago) link

the swines.

grimly fiendish (simon), Friday, 8 December 2006 15:44 (eighteen years ago) link

They may well come here - they've got a wee gap in their schedule between SF and LA.

4/6/2007 San Francisco, CA Bimbos 365 Club Jesu & Zozobra
4/8/2008 Los Angeles, CA Henry Fonda Theater Jesu & Zozobra

Blaze the Violet Flame (nu_onimo), Friday, 8 December 2006 15:45 (eighteen years ago) link

Ah, but it's a year-long performance in SF, you understand. Neurosis are scheduled for a jam session during July.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Friday, 8 December 2006 15:51 (eighteen years ago) link

PAYBACK TIME! :)

Bimbler (Sourkraut), Friday, 8 December 2006 18:36 (eighteen years ago) link

oh you

RJG (RJG), Friday, 8 December 2006 21:32 (eighteen years ago) link

seeing JESU in north america will be a treat. seeing them get more than a 45 min set would be even better.

side bar to pfunkboy :: sorry i only noticed this thread after posting the other one.

william (drone/a/sore), Friday, 8 December 2006 23:48 (eighteen years ago) link

Np.

Can't wait for the Jesu LP in February. There's 2 or 3 12"s or splits out before then apparently.
Really anticipating this album. Apparently it's poppier than the LP and more like the Silver EP.

pfunkboy (Kerr), Saturday, 9 December 2006 00:14 (eighteen years ago) link

i have the release date etched in my diary.

grimly fiendish (simon), Saturday, 9 December 2006 00:46 (eighteen years ago) link

I should be playing the Jesu very shortly :)

pfunkboy (Kerr), Thursday, 21 December 2006 23:27 (seventeen years ago) link

Punk.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Thursday, 21 December 2006 23:28 (seventeen years ago) link

Ned.

pfunkboy (Kerr), Thursday, 21 December 2006 23:56 (seventeen years ago) link

i'm going to the charlotte show! if anybody's interested, i'd be happy to get drunk and fight you

hm (modestmickey), Friday, 22 December 2006 00:07 (seventeen years ago) link

This album is FANTASTIC!

pfunkboy (Kerr), Friday, 22 December 2006 00:10 (seventeen years ago) link

compared to Silver?

I am the best lyrocost since Dylan (Scourage), Friday, 22 December 2006 00:19 (seventeen years ago) link

The next logical step.
Jesu keep getting better and better.

pfunkboy (Kerr), Friday, 22 December 2006 00:23 (seventeen years ago) link

A live gig can be downloaded here http://godflesh.689eyes.com/downloads.html

pfunkboy (Kerr), Friday, 22 December 2006 19:29 (seventeen years ago) link

Silver was totally not better than the album

Jaufre Rudel (Jaufre Rudel), Friday, 22 December 2006 21:45 (seventeen years ago) link

It was a good progression though. The album was pretty much perfection so they moved on with new ideas.

pfunkboy (Kerr), Saturday, 23 December 2006 00:27 (seventeen years ago) link

....a few more dates added to the tour, pretty sure this means vancouver gets bypassed .
