I ain't gonna lie and say I'm not stoked for this.

It's been pushed to 2012 because of his health issues/resting, and only three confirmed tracks I've found so far. a little worried that this one might be underwhelming if he rushes it.

hope that maybe it gets a summer release now that it is not coming out in Dec so taht it gets mass exposure

was talking w/ deej a bit about this last night -- wonder how his health is going to effect the release of this, and how that is going to effect meek mill's album

in any event the songs off this so far have been pretty decent, nothing on a "mafia music" or "BMF" level yet. should be a very good album tho.

"you the boss" is so garbage

for better or worse ross doesn't seem that hands-on w/ his artists where his availability will matter that much w/ other people's albums beyond whether he's guesting on a single or whatever?

"9 piece" was such a sad failed attempt at "bmf 2" that i kind of hope he stays away from that type of song

some dude (Mr. Stevenson #2), Sunday, 11 December 2011 15:44 (fourteen years ago)

yeah "9 piece" was BS

v-shasty, Sunday, 11 December 2011 16:37 (fourteen years ago)

my most anticipated rap release

wil smif, Sunday, 11 December 2011 17:59 (fourteen years ago)

i'm surprised "9 piece" wasn't conceived as a KFC promotional tie-in

or testicle implant surgery

lmao

wil smif, Tuesday, 13 December 2011 02:03 (fourteen years ago)

i like 'you the boss,' good hook. not into '9 piece' tho no

joey joe joe junior shabadoo, Tuesday, 13 December 2011 03:37 (fourteen years ago)

that said, "you the boss" def feels like a enters-into-the-lower-reaches-of-top-40 track if that -- certainly not the kind of song I'd expect to reach BMF levels of success or anything

joey joe joe junior shabadoo, Tuesday, 13 December 2011 03:38 (fourteen years ago)

i don't see Ross waiting until summer. I doubt they want to push Meek past next year

joey joe joe junior shabadoo, Tuesday, 13 December 2011 03:39 (fourteen years ago)

well, "BMF" didn't enter the top 40 at all. (xpost)

Mr. Stevenson #2, Tuesday, 13 December 2011 03:40 (fourteen years ago)

yeah, well, most rap radio tracks don't any more, right? i guess I'm thinking with a 2002 mindstate. what i mean is, 'you're the boss' feels pretty minor, but i do like it

joey joe joe junior shabadoo, Tuesday, 13 December 2011 03:42 (fourteen years ago)

yeah "you the boss" feels about as uneventful as a record with ross AND minaj possibly could in 2011. i mean it's already a ten R&B record but yeah it doesn't feel like it's going to stick around and be a huge hit.

Mr. Stevenson #2, Tuesday, 13 December 2011 03:44 (fourteen years ago)

i mean you've mentioned about this much before but it does seem like Ross always just throws tons of singles at the wall, a couple stick, a bunch do ok, the rest disappear. in my exp. though, whether or not i'll like them can entirely depend. like, i doubt 'yacht club' charted well but that's one of his best singles imo

joey joe joe junior shabadoo, Tuesday, 13 December 2011 03:52 (fourteen years ago)

he has a song called 'yacht club'? lol

but yeah he always just drops tons of songs and nobody cares how they do unless it's a big event like 'bmf' or whatever -- ties into my theory that he's nobody's favorite rapper but he may never have a major flop or backlash because even the people that like him and pretend he's a GREAT RAPPER don't actually expect much from him

seriously one of my fav singles. low budget video, small yacht. i dunno why

joey joe joe junior shabadoo, Tuesday, 13 December 2011 05:14 (fourteen years ago)

i guess it was near the beginning of the recession lol

TEN BRICKS...DID I MENTION I HAVE EIGHT BALLS?

Mr. Stevenson #2, Tuesday, 13 December 2011 14:36 (fourteen years ago)

I'm still bummed out that Ross and Birdman are no longer doing a duo album called Bald Eagles Fly High

Mr. Stevenson #2, Tuesday, 13 December 2011 14:37 (fourteen years ago)

had no idea that was even a possibility. p funny title
