Would love to see Chick Willis ("Stoop Down Baby") and Lee Fields and Hardway Connection at this DC area event tonight.

I don't know the Ecko label, but this morning I opened my sealed copy of John Kasandra's 'Color Me Human' released on Stax's Respect imprint. Side two is a long suite called Moses lll. It's a sermon like rap about race and brotherhood. My favorite is (What's Under) the Natural Do', really funky! Would like to find more of these stax off-shoots like Gospel Truth, We Produce, and of course Enterprise.

Really digging later Stax in general, post the Atlantic years, esp the last few years when they were branching out too far into other areas.

All good old stuff, but Xchuck and I like some of the bluesy soulful Southern stuff that yes uses synths. Here's a site that covers lables like Ecko:

No youtubes for Miss Jody's latest. Her Miss Jody's in the House cd is on Spotify. Plenty of Miss Jody line dance videos on Youtube plus some older songs. Will have to post one

Nice...

So many line dances. Here's Gina Brown's G-Slide. It starts with a lesson and then she and dancers do the song and dance routine
