I never thought I would ask this question, but: where can I buy the NME in the US? No, stop laughing, really.

This week there's a Modular Records CD with it, with a semi-rare Carl Craig/Paperclip People remix of the Avalanches and some other decent stuff besides. Also some crap from Wolfmother, but that's why Eli Whitney invented the skip track button.

I could be wrong, but I don't think the cds are including on US copies.

Have a Britishes buy it for you and YSI.

(just tell them to hold the Wolfmother)

It seems the disc is only "a bunch of wav files in a folder" rather than an actual playable CD.

So, it only seems right and proper to do this:

woo

if that works..

yes that works. i was wondering why it wouldn't play 'properly' in the PC here.

So, if this is the same for all the cover mounted CDs, this is one massive cockup.

The NME site says nothing, but of course that site is purely based on the premise "The NME is wonderful in all ways".

In Soviet Russia, the NME is no different!

However, the record label itself sees it differently...

Oh my word, NME pwned.

I don't read the "NME" but they have it at Border's. I checked it last night because I heard my friend's band is mentioned (by a dude from Maximo Park on his year-end list?) but I didn't see anything like that in the issue.

Is it like... mp3s on a cd?

jw (ex machina), Tuesday, 12 December 2006 17:18 (seventeen years ago) link

It's wav files on the CD.

M Grout (Mark Grout), Tuesday, 12 December 2006 17:20 (seventeen years ago) link

That is a major boner

I'm pretty sure cover-mounted CDs never make it overseas. It's a licensing thing.
