"Martha" !

Obviously "Hold You Down" has that sleigh-bell sound and the video makes it feel total midwinter. I guess "Martha" has a similar wintry feel cos it's that looking back sentiment that you get round new year's but i love how some records feel like December records for no obvious reason

yeah i think that wistful slightly nostalgic vibe is a big part of a Christmas jam

that "coming home" feeling as well: the original of "t-shirt" doesn't feel christmassy at all to me, but it's terius' additional verse about being away from her but looking forward to holding her in his arms again that makes it

this is so deliberate in its orchestration but the song doesn't reference christmas at all, still a sucker for it so whatever

Julie Lagger, Friday, 2 December 2011 16:33 (fourteen years ago)

Hungry Heart by Bruce always conjures christmas vibes for me. It's those tinkling ivories, I think.

I was listening to this yesterday, and it seemed to fit Christmastime perfectly.
