i don't own a single album of his, but every song i've heard of his has been consistently great.
actually just heard a song in a store the other day w/him and missy. the guy told me it was from the new album. i should search that out.

Yeah, him on Scenario is definitely in the top 10 or at least top 20 all-time hip-hop moments. I'm surprised New York Shit from the newest album didn't really blow up - maybe because everyone found out about the jacked beat?

also, busta's had a ton of great songs...
and his shit on the old leaders of the new school stuff was awesome, so as good as scenario is, he's real solid overall.

Somehow it seems like he has calmed down drastically since LotNS, which I don't know if I would call an improvement or not, but either way he is always exciting to listen to.

haha, this is my territory I believe...
J Beez with the Remedy was hodge podge, but that of course was because some of it was salvaged from their scrapped crazy wizdom masters album. That project was largely driven by Torture, who later reemrged as Sensational. I love the Crazy Wizdom Master's stuff, but loathe the Sensational stuff.
LONS T.I.M.E. isn't exactly like that. I mean, NOTHING comes close to approaching the originality and effectiveness of "Spittin' Wicked Randomness"...holy shit. TIME is like, no melodic hooks, no grooves, just chunky crunchy beats bouncing at full steam, huge, and lots of Busta and Charlie trying to outscream each other while ranting about their inner minds eye. It's a good album, but it doesn't stick over time (no pun intended). I advise a used, cut out, or mpfree of it.
I do find myself even still occasionally chanting "that's what connections is all about" when I get nostalgic for it, but it doesn't evoke the warm fuzzy nostalgia of that time the way Tribe's Electric Relaxation or Pharcyde's Splattiorium does.
I always thought Buhloone Mindstate got a bad rap. I personally fell that it was the best De La album by far simply for being concise (their first two albums fail at that miserably) and disposing of gimmicky skits for the sake of quality interludes and in jokes. After that, they lost Paul, and well, frankly, times changed out form under their feet, undermining what they are best at.
I know everybody will shoot my De La opinion down, but matt, just skip that and focus on my report of LONS TIME.

i love buloone mindstate!
dude the fact that sensational was on jbeez TOTALLY makes sense, at least based on the one sensational album i have...the famous-ish one that came out in the late 90s.
i'll put TIME on my used CD bin watch list. thx poppa.
