warning: said film still promises Heath Ledger as Joker.

Huk-L (Huk-L), Friday, 16 February 2007 04:54 (seventeen years ago) link

I know he’s too old to play either the Joker and Dent, but a slightly younger Ray Liotta as seen in Something Wild or Goodfellas would’ve been perfect…

Haha Ray Liotta has a fucked up mouth

Back in the pre-Michael Keaton Days, Ray Liotta was my choice for Bruce.

Supposedly, a Gyllenhall is replacing Mizz Cruise as the wuv object.

Tim Burton should've had Ray Liotta play both Batman AND the Joker. Duality DO YOU SEE etc.

well checking imdb it seems i haven't seen one Aaron Eckhart movie, no wonder i hadn't heard of him.

Never really heard of Heath either. Doesn't have much of a joker look about him i must say.

why is thread titled thus, when the movie is called Dark Knight ?

Ste (fuzzy), Friday, 16 February 2007 13:19 (seventeen years ago) link

1) Aaron Eckhart was in Erin Brockovich & Paycheck (VERY KEY to understanding his Two-Face)
2) Heath Ledger was in Brokeback Mountain and Ten Things I Hate About You (VERY KEY to understanding his Joker)
3) "Batman Begins II" is a more informative thread title than "Dark Knight."

Someone get Neil LaBute to doctor this script so it turns the movie into a 3-man bro-fest where they're all trying to fuck w/ Vicki Vale.

or is it just an ilxism

Ste (fuzzy), Friday, 16 February 2007 13:44 (seventeen years ago) link

Because Eckhart's first big film was Neil LaBute's "In the Company of Men"

Andrew Farrell (afarrell), Friday, 16 February 2007 13:46 (seventeen years ago) link

Check out Aaron Eckhart's filmography, Ste.

Or have Andrew ruin the pun.

'Thank You For Batmanning' would have been my choice, but ech what the hell.

You know what'd be great? More Gotham cop action. You know what'd be even greater? A Gotham Central TV show.

YESSSSSS

If the success of Heroes is any indication, it (mixing quotidian cop shenanigans with extraordinary spandex shenanigans) could work, too!

You know what'd be great? Adam West's writers, and not trying to make kiddie pulp into Hamlet.

You know what'd be great? For folks to realize that funnybooks can work as films without being all WHIFF BANG ZOW and ridiculously campy.

for some reason the phrase "more Gotham cop action" rings heavily homoerotic in my mind

I think Tom Fontana already did. Only instead of Batman, H:LOTS had Yaphet Kotto as deus ex machina.

Does that mean the special episode starring Robin Williams = the GC Joker arc?

And Bayliss as "Gay Zen Cop with an Internet Page" = Half A Life.

I am excited for this, but still disappointed they didn't give the Joker role to Crispin Glover.
