So do we get to keep the sandbox as a retarded twin? Was the issue of this board being allowed to run it's course ever addressed? What's the shutdown ETA if not?

The sandbox has been up long enough that some of its threads will start showing up on google, and therefore the sandbox may start attracting its own posters who remain blissfully unaware of real ILX's existence. In the Keggers of Yore thread it even has its own definitively classic thread.

I reckon the Sandbox should be renamed "ILX - Marxist Leninist" or "ILX - General Command" or "Continuity ILX" and left to run its course.

it'd be good if thehold can be set up as a separate board on nu-ilx or something.

or set up as an actual parallel sandbox on the nu server, for testing new codes.

They won't let us run Tomcat on it, so that'll stop testing new code here (why we haven't done it already). I assume because this is a shared server and not a dedicated box, so they're understandably more concerned about its stability.
