My grandmother gave me a box of fortune cookies with a note that read: "No apartment should be without". No one else in my family has been able to figure out what that means.

I am feeling very good about some re-gifting ILX secret santa next year. Actually, maybe we should start re-gifting immediately!

just had to re-post, it wasn't a gift.

I got a padded bra covered with red lip-prints. Unfortunately, it was made for someone who has gigantic tits on a tiny frame. My alternate-universe self.

girl I've had a crush on forever got me a towel set for christmas... who gets someone towels?

hm (modestmickey), Monday, 1 January 2007 17:03 (seventeen years ago) link

I guess in someways a towel could be seen as an intimate kinda gift.

I got David Hasselhoff's autobiography, but I did ask for it.

C J (C J), Monday, 1 January 2007 23:21 (seventeen years ago) link

I like the Darwin. He looks so miserable in that vice-grip.

suzy artskooldisko (suzy artskooldisko), Tuesday, 2 January 2007 01:06 (seventeen years ago) link

who wouldn't? I'm reading the second volume of Janet Browne's biog of Darwin at the mo. He suffered from very poor health through most of his life which what really made him miserable. And it was the reason why he didn't attend the famous Wilberforce vs Huxley FITE! at the Oxford Museum in person....

is the Darwin doll part of an eminent Victorian series???

MarkH (MarkH), Tuesday, 2 January 2007 15:03 (seventeen years ago) link

my grandma gave me flavored vodka in a poland spring bottle. (she pealed the label off first, though, and secured a vodka label with an elastic)

When I was 11, an aunt bought me a Moustache Trimming Kit. It must have been about another ten years before i could even grow one. Even then it struck me especially poor attention to detail.

Also, when I was a child a someone else bought a teddy bear that was steel lined and rivetted together, we used to call it Metal Ted.

T_B (T B), Wednesday, 3 January 2007 10:19 (seventeen years ago) link

Drug Smuggler Ted
