I know there was something along these lines in the old ILX, but I cannot find it in Googlecache. So here we go again: what's a good Bollywood movie for someone who wants to find out what all the fuss is about, but is intimidated by 200-minute-plus running times, and hasn't a clue where to begin?

1. Lagaan
2. Kuch Kuch Kota Hai
3. Devdas
4. Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham...
5. Kandukondain Kandukondain (not Bollywood, actually, made in Tegulu)

Oh and NEVER be intimidated by long running times -- Lagaan is almost 4 hours but it zings right along. DVDs can always be paused you know.

How's Dil Se? I know the "Chaiyya Chaiyya" train sequence is legendary, but is the rest of the film nearly as good?
