The Precious Moments Chapel is the fulfillment of Sam Butcher's dream. Many years ago he visited the famed Sistine Chapel in Rome. Sam wanted to create a lasting tribute to the Lord, and the Precious Moments Chapel is his lifelong commitment to the fulfillment of that dream. Sam continues to add to the Chapel's magnificent art and architectural detail. Close to a million visitors each year stroll its grounds, pause in the gardens, and meditate in the solitude of the Chapel sanctuary.

I found this link on another board where people were ranting against Thomas Kinkade. I never thought someone would try to build the structures, tho.

hummels and precious moments are both really xian but hummels were started by a nun I think? also they are less precious obv.

I can't even think about Precious Moments, one of the years I lived in a college dorm, our whole floor was decorated with PM cut-outs. We conveniently "lost" ours and had to apologize to the organizer but that was preferable to looking at the fucking things.

One of the scariest days at work was when I found out that one of my coworkers apparently used to collect those figurines with his ex-wife. I was assuming it was her thing so I joked that he was happy to get rid of them in the divorce. If only I was right. They apparently became his property, so I asked, "So, you sold them... right?" "Yeah, after I completed the collection."
