is it me or is there a new c/o guy who is running things. first he was e4, and it's all ironic, right? -- but now he does non-ironic stuff, like the x-factor. the e4 ads are quite good, in that they say 'lol you watch e4, idiots'.

I met Film Four's voiceover guy on Friday, he looked about 14.

I ADORE E4 voiceover guy for this very reason. Perfect marriage of writer and voiceguy.

Wasn't he actually 'on' one of the "e4 Music" ads?

M Grout (Mark Grout), Wednesday, 20 December 2006 15:59 (seventeen years ago) link

.. looking exactly as you might expect?

Didn't he also provide voice-over for various Reeves & Mortimer shows in the nineties?

I like it when he's all "You twats are *still* prepared to watch endless Friends repeats? Ok, here's another four. Knock yourself out!"

more or less

I spent about two months saying "JENNY LOVE-HEWITT WILL SORT OUT THOSE GHOST FREAKOIDS!" to teh_kat anytime any mention of ghosts was made within 10 miles of my house.

xposts haha!

I presume this is the Patrick Allen impersonator.

They should just hire Mr Cinema Trailer Voiceover Guy ("It was a WARRRR...he couldn't WINNNNN" etc.)...I'm sure he can't be that expensive these days.

Tommy Vance is sorely missed.

not-at-all related, but why does every bloody smoothie drinks company (plus many others) feel the need to adorn their packaging/ad campaigns with twee shit. "V1rgin.net Wi-Fi, beamed straight from Branson's underpants to your computer"; "Hello! Hi, I'm an Innocent Smoothie, hand squeezed by a very nice man called Justin and it's a delight to meet you and be drunk by you"; etc. etc. It's condescending and stupid.

I used to like him, but he's overplayed now and gets on my tits.

Didn't he also provide voice-over for various Reeves & Mortimer shows in the nineties?

I think so, and also for the first series of Blackadder.

I thought Reeves & Mortimer Voice-Over Guy was the chap who did the voice-overs for Blind Date?

he's funny
"and starring 'that guy from Brookside'"

Ste (fuzzy), Thursday, 21 December 2006 09:37 (seventeen years ago) link

Oh God, I was flicking between channels last night, and found out that ITV have got a really piss-poor imitation of this guy now as well, he was wittering over the end credits of Bad Girls in a "ha, aren't I witty" manner. Except, erm, sorry mate, you aren't.

Reeves & Mortimer guy was the late, lamented and much imitated Patrick Allen.

I loved Patrick Allen but I dislike these current imitators.

He reminds me of the guy on those old DFS ads; "Croydon, New Malden, Sidcup and South Ruislip"

that was for Shooting Stars but not The Smell Of...

That's the bloke (older naturally) that appears on that "E4 Music, Invented in 1890, we just didn;t tell anyone!" ad.

M Grout (Mark Grout), Thursday, 21 December 2006 13:24 (seventeen years ago) link

I'm totally down with Patrick Allan! He should post more, though. And fix his windows HDD.

teh_kit (g-kit), Thursday, 21 December 2006 13:24 (seventeen years ago) link

Patrick Allen, Tommy Vance and Alan Freeman share the posthumous Open Bank Holiday Monday award. But Allen was the only one with a helicopter.
