Has anyone noticed their spam count increase exponentially?

I tend to clear down, 4 times a day. Usually there's between 3 and 20.

Just now, there was 130.

Actually it's less than before. In my work email that is. I never bother with my gmail.

it's true that spam is waaay up recently.

but now i have the sweetest spam filter so who cares (spamsieve for any one who uses mail on os x - i am a believer).

I need to know how to get rid of those stock-tip ones which come from Theophilus P. Wildebeest or somesuch. I went from ZERO spam to about 10 a day on those. WHY?

Thanks Tombot for that.

My guess is that the existing rules have exceptions thus:

1) Misdirected addresses
2) Returned post

Which means that all the spam mail I get is to "mark.graham@gmoyle.com" or other such mispellings

or "re: ViNAGRoy - Mail sent to my spam filter"
from "Graham.McElroy@flippertopopop.com"
.. as if I sent it to him in the first place!

I get around 50 or more a day but it's so effortless to just delete the whole lot in one go that it doesn't matter how many get through.
