2. Spitting image.

3. The Simpsons

Only kidding! (about the Simpsons)

Rory Bremner actually.

There's a TV show called 30 best political comedies.

Can you stand the suspense? Can you name 20?

Beat ya!!

Isn't there a John Prescott satirical thing on later this week?

C J (C J), Monday, 11 December 2006 15:54 (nineteen years ago)

That Jane Horrocks thingy that was on recently.

Would an MP actually vote for that?

Our old MP, Jane Griffiths, was a Chris Morris fan (spoke up in defence of the Paedo special). But she's not an MP anymore so I guess "Brass Eye" will be conspicbyab.

M Grout (Mark Grout), Monday, 11 December 2006 15:54 (nineteen years ago)

I think the Horrocks thing wasn't intentionally funny.

Blaze the Violet Flame (nu_onimo), Monday, 11 December 2006 15:55 (nineteen years ago)

BBC press releases said it was "a bold and engaging drama"

Blaze the Violet Flame (nu_onimo), Monday, 11 December 2006 16:00 (nineteen years ago)

"No Job for a Lady" was the Penelope Keith thing, I'm getting my xposts in a twist.

M Grout (Mark Grout), Tuesday, 12 December 2006 13:08 (nineteen years ago)

chaired by the two who came second and third in the last election!

M Grout (Mark Grout), Tuesday, 12 December 2006 13:09 (nineteen years ago)

The Times review decried the politicians for only putting The Thick Of It at number fifteen. There are other current reasons why MPs might be reluctant to declare affection for the latter.

Marcello Carlin (nostudium), Tuesday, 12 December 2006 13:10 (nineteen years ago)

Apparently the scripted badinage between Kennedy and Howard was beyond dire. Perhaps Collins and Maconie wrote it.

Marcello Carlin (nostudium), Tuesday, 12 December 2006 13:10 (nineteen years ago)

CK: "Oh, and after the brreak, morre joeks at the expense of New Labour"
MH: "Oh good!"
CK: "And yet we both lost against them, last time!"
MH: "Yes. How crap are we?"

M Grout (Mark Grout), Tuesday, 12 December 2006 13:15 (nineteen years ago)

The Jane Horrocks thing was definitely intentionally funny in places. I don't know that that makes it a comedy though.

Does it have to be UK political comedies? Spin City's pretty funny.

ailsa_xx (ailsa_xx), Tuesday, 12 December 2006 13:16 (nineteen years ago)

I saw an advert for a new series of The Thick Of It, or a Christmas special.

PJ Miller (PJ Miller), Tuesday, 12 December 2006 14:19 (nineteen years ago)

Yeah, they've carted Chris Langham's character off to Australia or something.

ailsa_xx (ailsa_xx), Tuesday, 12 December 2006 14:27 (nineteen years ago)

I wonder if anyone voted for Gyles Brandreth's fecking awful radio comedy, Living With The Enemy. That, the Now Show and Down The Line mean I sprint to switch off the radio after the 6 o'clock news these days.

Madchen (Madchen), Tuesday, 12 December 2006 14:27 (nineteen years ago)

I wonder which one this guy's favorite is...

Adrian Sanders (Torbay, Liberal Democrat):

A scheduled British Airways flight from London to Turkey costs £161. The new standard-class rail fare from London to Torquay costs a staggering £184. How does that fit into the Government's plan to encourage people to use the train and how does it fit in with the Government's oft-repeated claim that they support the British tourism industry, which is so important to Torquay and other seaside resorts?
