we are planning to eat around 7:30 and then have drinks and dancing after 9. i think jaq and lingbert are in. donut? matos? who else?

end up staying there longer than I thought - from Dec. 22 to Dec. 28.

so i guess not? too bad. there may well be a baby or two over, at least earlier, before the bass drum basement starts kicking

we also found an amazing chinese place a block away: 7 Star Schezuan Pepper. i have no idea how to spell schezuan. it's at 12th and jackson, hidden in the upstairs of a run-down 2 story, and has to be the best chinese food i've had since i was in china. so great.

we also found an amazing chinese place a block away: 7 Star Schezuan Pepper.

this restaurant has a vegetarian dish. its sauce will eat through styrofoam. seriously.

gah i wanted that job. i think it will never exist.

the girl at my gym was talkin baout 7 stars, too. lol.

sushifap was nice. i saw some asian girls riding in convertibles and waving (seafair, i believe). some of the cars had those headlights that flip up and they had been decorated to look like blinking eyes. then i saw a group of people i identified to be jaq, mr. jaq, the reverend, and the higgs walking across the street up the hill and then down and into the restaurant. i went to join them, and as i was approaching the restaurant door, i received an email from our lurker saying he had flaked and was too far away to get there in time. sad. but the company was lovely nonetheless and my tatakijiji was delicious. i would like to go back sometime and have the spider roll, which looked incredible and unlike any spider roll i have ever seen.

te,he, thanks again for sushifap planning, co-ordination, and execution - it was lovely to meet Clay + sushiwise friend and enjoy delicious fish with everyone. Maybe mysterious lurker will appear for the next one.

i hate flying because now i am scared of crashes (thanks a lot spirit air) and also because i hate watching people stuff their faces all the time in airports/on planes, etc. i think since they started charging for food ppl feel like they are getting cheated and eat MORE. it's gross. also i hate when they won't stop talking on their bluetooth headsets.

yeah i don't understand the *need* to eat on flights unless it's a really long one. i flew from columbus to chicopee, mass. once when skybus existed, and people were buying alcohol! on a 1.5 hour (?) flight! in the morning! and i don't like to be stuffed in with people who are eating either. the whole experience is just gross to me, flying.

There's a Tutta Bella pizza place there and a bbq place and a bakery. And a fabulous old-school barbershop. Not near the station though, don't really know what is near it.

t, did you see the custom hat/shoe shop in Madrona? at the far south end of the little strip of shops, east side of the street. St. Clouds makes great drinks btw and has good food. My son worked at Cafe Soliel for awhile, also does great breakfasts on the weekends. And the big Catholic church there? It's your patron St. Therese. We used to live next door to it.

ok so really i did nothing in madrona except meet someone for coffee at the hi spot.

ooooh st. therese! i will have to tell my parents when they visit! that is actually the correct patron saint (the little flower), not the more popular teresa of avila.

Hi Spot is also good - always packed on the weekends though. There's a winery next door (Wilridge) that used to do volunteer bottling - you could work for a weekend and bring home a 1/2 case of their (highly rated and spendy) wine as payment. I would do that again, if they still do it.
