i just got some mail (at work) which is somehow addressed to my home address, there's no hint on the mail to show how it got delivered here. It's a United Utilities junk mail insurance, btw.

how the hell?!

Is your real name "Ste Pleaseignoretheaddressbelowanddeliverallmailtomyoffice" ?

RIGHT now is the point where I say Royal Mail good, PARCELNET bad - they won't deliver me my package unless I sign for it, they only deliver when I have already told them by email I won't be in and I read online (FACT!) that if they fail to deliver three times it goes back to the sender in this case sodding Amazon. I WILL BE VERY CROSS IF THIS HAPPENS! There is a hint I could go to a random's house in Forest Hill to pick this up?!?! No! I will go the big post office to pick up, bah bah but this all seems a moot point as my presents will now go back to amazon! WAH!

And before you say anything NO I can't have things delivered to work address because my 9 storey building doesn't have a POSTROOM.

Sarah (Science of Unforunate Events), Friday, 8 December 2006 10:49 (seventeen years ago) link

well can you not go to the big post office to pick these up?

Ste (fuzzy), Friday, 8 December 2006 10:52 (seventeen years ago) link

What? You mean your office gets no post?

x-post

Alba (Alba), Friday, 8 December 2006 10:52 (seventeen years ago) link

Sarah, I'd be surprised if you could go pick it up at a postoffice, cos parcelnet isn't anything to do with Royal Mail

I had this problem with amazon and I think it was greenline. Their depot was up in Enfield!! The parcel got sent back and I sent Amazon a snotty email and asked them to use a carrier that considered people who had to work for a living.

I like the way stuff from America comes via Frankfurt. Though, I suppose I should worry about the carbon cost.

Ste, it's probably amazon. After all your games and equipment purchases of course they know where you work! They're probably in cahoots with your employers keeping you there to pay off game bills :)

I've had the same problem with Amazon too. In this case it's the Home Delivery Network delivering at ridiculous times and using that crazy three-strikes-and-you're-out rule and having their depot based in some obscure shithole 30 miles away from here (here being the centre of a v large city). Why Amazon why...
