dear readers i am conflicted. they give good quote, but they come off like the ultimate reactionary sour grapesers. classic or dud?

it's a weird replay of lots of different reactions/responses to modernism from the 1920s and 1930s. it's not their fault the official avant-garde is so stuck in the 1910s.

I was going to say dud but then I realised I'd confused them with that group who used to boo at contemporary music things. I can't remember what they were called but they were very irritating.

Looking at some of the Stuckist stuff I think classic and dud in just about equal measure.

Both. I love the art, but I'm not so keen on listening to them going on about all the other modern art they don't like.

The first I heard of the Stuckists was via Momus on realILX. Since then, they've been popping up everywhere. For m'self, they'd have a lot more credibility if the Stuckists musical counterparts were fixated on early 20th century folk music. While not classic, not dud either.

Oddly enough, staying here I saw seven golden bowls make cakes and religion (goo, Tuesday, 5 December 2006 13:04 (seventeen years ago) link

The Hecklers! That was what they were called. Sorry to interrupt.
