Go to see (live, in nosebleed) a lopsided three pernt bernanza at the at&t center tonight. Dang, I thought the Warriors were in better shape than this (altho they didn't have Jason Richardson, but 40 points is some division III shit).

Got to see, that is.

Also, my fantasy hoops plan is almost exactly how I imagined, 2nd in yahoo, last on nba.com

God, I hope Isiah Thomas trades like 3 first rounders for Allen Iverson.

I'm first in both leagues, but seemingly because no one else is bothering to play!

oooh my pistons-nets game is coming up... next saturday!!

Just keeping the lower half of the standings warm for you, pooky.

Guys, don't cry or anything, but Ray Allen's out for the next two weeks or so

lol @ the nba already ditching the new ball

jergins (jergins), Wednesday, 13 December 2006 00:17 (seventeen years ago) link

If you want to talk some fugly basketball, you should have seen the Indiana and Kentucky basketball game last Saturday. Neither team has a guard that can hit the broad side of a barn.

earlnash (earlnash), Wednesday, 13 December 2006 01:16 (seventeen years ago) link

Don't look now, but as of right now the Pistons are the #1 seed in the LEast. Nice win over the Nets tonight, and the Lawrence Frank gets fired death watch can start now.

Aaron W (Aaron W), Sunday, 17 December 2006 03:49 (seventeen years ago) link

How bad is the east where the pistons get worse over the offseason and they move up in the conference? Ridonkulous

ps - There was a brawl.

ben wallace is finally showing some of his skillz, at least. both bens have been going nuts lately. the bulls are def. playoff-bound, dunno how far they'll go. they're hard to read, since each of the last three seasons they've started out like the worst team in the league and then dominate by the end.

bohren un der club of gear (bohren un der club of gear), Sunday, 17 December 2006 04:05 (seventeen years ago) link

Oh yeah, just saw there was a brawl. That Nate Robinson will take on anyone! Good of Baveta to kick out all 10 players. Looks like Melo sucker punched some dude after things had quieted down. Good one.

What I love the most about this... Now we'll have to hear all the blah blah blah blah about how out of control the NBA is. A team in the NFL has had EIGHT players arrested throughout the year, yet everyone thinks that the NBA is the league with the disciplinary problems.

Aaron W (Aaron W), Sunday, 17 December 2006 04:56 (seventeen years ago) link

GUYS! I JUST WATCHED THE PISTONS WIN!!!!!!!!!!!!! LIVE AND IN PERSON WHILE LISTENING TO NETS FANS TALK SHIT! IT WAS SO MUCH FUN!

i have really crappy pictures that came out really dark and blurry but i've done some shitty brightening...

Nice seats tehresa! Glad you got to see a good game. How about that Pistons bench??

Aaron W (Aaron W), Sunday, 17 December 2006 14:20 (seventeen years ago) link

that pic was from when we moved down to better seats at the end, but our seats were pretty good to begin with (i splurged :D)

i was sad lindsey hunter was out, and rasheed was hanging out down at the bench so at least i got to see him (we first recognized him from behind by the ridiculous bald spot!). it was cool to see maxiell and delfino get some time in. chauncey was on fire for a while and of course i am now more smitten than ever by rip.

and jason kidd is one weird motherfucker. sayin'.

Over/under how many times AI passes to an open Melo per game: 2.5

jawahahlolllll nehru (m bison), Wednesday, 20 December 2006 19:03 (seventeen years ago) link

The best brawl footage was of Jared Jeffries looking beside himself as he tries to wrestle himself away from the restraint of the coaching staff, getting his jersey stretched out Hulkamania style.

WHY IS NO ONE HERE TALKING ABOUT HOW AWESOME THE TAR HEELS ARE?

ive been mulling over the ai trade for a little while now and have come to this conclusion: if the suns and the nuggets meet in the playoffs, it will be the greatest series in the history of the nba.

:-/ @ easy joeks. I sincerely believe Melo/AI will click and win that division. Jazz are due for a fall.

Eff an Tar Heels: HOW 'BOUT THEM BADGERS! Ranked #4, highest in school history, beating Pitt on nat'l TV, Alando Tucker with his awesome dancing, Brian Butch playing like a non-nincompoop...good times in Madtown these days.

But yeah my son's favorite team = still Tar Heels, so yes they are still pretty good too whatever.

AI / Melo might do well, but if Camby gets hurt they are DUNN))). And where's the midrange there, unless Nene steps it up HAHAHAHA OUCH.

Matt Cibula (Formerly, the Haikunym), Wednesday, 20 December 2006 21:19 (seventeen years ago) link

im psyched to finally see iverson on a running team after being saddled with eric snow, mutumbo and the one-legged chris webber etc his whole career. i mean this is the strongest aspect of his game - why they want to punish him so bad in philly?

jhoshea (jhoshea), Wednesday, 20 December 2006 21:20 (seventeen years ago) link

and the west just gets stronger, huh?

jergins (jergins), Wednesday, 20 December 2006 21:21 (seventeen years ago) link

DO NOT COUNT NENE OUT

i was watching nugs v c's the other nite w/broz he came in and everyone was all lol so fat 60m wtf were they thinking then he makes ridiculous power move gets couple rebounds blocks a shot and just looks all around like a psycho killer all while being clearly rusty and out of shape (think it was his second game back). we were all hmm maybe not such a bad signing.

but yeah yr right - the inevitable camby injury is just hanging there over their heads like a sword.

jhoshea (jhoshea), Wednesday, 20 December 2006 21:28 (seventeen years ago) link

john hollinger wisely points out the andre miller will likely be going to detroit, cleveland or miami - all of whom could really use him.

two months pass...
Dang, skipped over all of All-Star weekend. Recap:
-dunk ain't dead (Dwight Howard was robbed)
-Charles Barkley racing Dick Bavetta was great
-Gil Arenas fan club goes bananas with trampoline dunk

In other news, apparently Jason Kidd might be going to the Lakers, which means he'd average about 4 points and 20 assists a game. And also there's no point in Dallas playing the rest of the regular season since they've pretty much got #1 locked up.
