I'm thinking 52 and American Splendor for sure.

Q - if I'm digging on DD and IF, should I mess with WT or not?

austin!@#$ (austin), Monday, 4 December 2006 14:55 (seventeen years ago) link

Not sure yet what I'm getting (tho it'll be ton-like), BUT I did find (online, from my comic hookup) a NEAR MINT (OMG) copy of FF #250 for only $3! A DOUBLE-SIZED extravaganza featuring Spidey, the FF, & Gladiator facing off against Skrulls disguised as X-Men! Possibly my favorite spandex book ever (which I sold once upon a time)! So awesome!

WT = Wraithborne, or White Tiger? I'm avoiding both.

David RER (Frank Fiore), Monday, 4 December 2006 15:01 (seventeen years ago) link

And, aside from the character getting some facetime in Bendis' DD, this WT series has v. little to do w/ either (as far as I know). Also, this is where I put my foot down on the OMG PUBLISHED WRITER OF REAL BOOKS trick.

Yeh, white tiger. I'm looking at pages now on her website.

It's not grabbing me much.

So far just Doc Strange and maybe Detective for me.

Oh sweet, thanks for mentioning that.

HAY KIDZ

That COWBOYS & ALIENS thing you see under IMAGE is a self-explanatory romp written by ACTION PHILOSOPHE Fred Van Lente! It's supposedly awesome (if you believe the hype), BUT if you're not willing to pony up $5, you can order it from Midtown Comics (dot com) for the price of the S&H fees, i.e. FREE.

Dude doesn't post on proper ILC for 4evah (for whatever reason), then steps in on temp thread only to make dipshitty rude comment about admittedly dorky thread titles = WHATEVER, save it for the TITTITWIST threads.

I liked the new first 6 issues of She-Hulk! They're probably better than the old last 6! As for The Thing - starts off a wee slow, picks up once the whole Arcade thing is sussed out, ends just as it was starting to get good becuz Marvel sux / hates Lockjaw.

David RER (Frank Fiore), Tuesday, 5 December 2006 17:59 (seventeen years ago) link

Yes to She-Hulk. Thing had some good jokes but was a little after-school specialish (which is kind of a joke in itself, I guess).

JordanC (JordanC), Tuesday, 5 December 2006 18:00 (seventeen years ago) link

where do i pick up? the 4th trade? is there such a thing?

hank s1ockli (hanks1ockli), Tuesday, 5 December 2006 18:05 (seventeen years ago) link

I'ma step up for the recent Shulk emoness, but maybe only because Slott is basically making Greg hr0n draw werewolves on the covers.

Not going to start any non–Star Trek threads: Five Fists of Science (by ILC flavor of the year Matt Fraction) -- C/D?

Donkey Kong New York (Lee), Friday, 8 December 2006 18:09 (seventeen years ago) link

It's pretty OK. It's a fun read, if you go for big robot vs. monster shenanigans (and I do mean shenanigans). And the cover price might be nice enough (around $12) that it's worth a dip.
