Lame ending to the rape story. Glimmer of a Mac-Wallace-Veronica trio shattered by last Logan scene.

Something is just not right about this season.

milo (milo), Wednesday, 29 November 2006 04:55 (nineteen years ago)

milo in being a hater non-shock; it was a fine ending and i dont know what you mean about the mwv "trio," were they gonna hook up or something and i missed it? if not, you forgot piz and that wallace and mac were/are useless, and that vengeful logan is k-awesome, like richie rich crossed with wolverine. IT IS SEASON THREE PEOPLE LET THE PAST GO.

furthermore: dead begley jr!

Hate-o-nym, Wednesday, 29 November 2006 06:20 (nineteen years ago)

Pseudonym OTM!

Once again unmoored from the heavy yoke of Roni's (impossible) expectations of do-goodery, Logan can at last return to his tru bad boi roots which is the fundamental appeal of his character -- emceeing bum fights!!

Donkey Kong New York, Wednesday, 29 November 2006 17:36 (nineteen years ago)

The last two were pretty weak.

For someone who just wanted to have sex without talking to girls, he didn't half bloody go on. Supervillain monologues aside I quite liked it, but I was expecting more episodes where Veronica makes some huge breakthrough and learns something new and weird about the rapes rather than have it go from her making next to no progress at all over 8 episodes to suddenly solving it in the last one.

terrible ending to that arc.

the dad stuff this season is awful too.

hank s1ockli (hanks1ockli), Tuesday, 5 December 2006 06:15 (nineteen years ago)

The first season was good, the second season was a decent encore... why not just let this thing die.

Michael (Oakland Mike), Tuesday, 5 December 2006 07:18 (nineteen years ago)

Also, why did Veronica just stand there when Logan said, "OMG you don't ever need anything, why is it so *sob*?" Hey, remember that one time, at some point during the last couple episodes, in the parking structure?"

Since Veronica's from the D (er the HW), I will not ever give up on her.

Andy_K (Andy_K), Tuesday, 5 December 2006 09:02 (nineteen years ago)

The supervillain monologue was notably bad, yes.

I suppose the odd pacing of this arc was a result of them not knowing whether they were going to have a full season or not.

I'm glad Ed bloody Begley is dead though. And that Logan and V have split; Logan was born to be bad. I have a horrible feeling, however, that she is going to date that Piz doofus - he's worse than Riley.

Jerry the Nipper (Jerry the Nipper), Tuesday, 5 December 2006 09:04 (nineteen years ago)

Bring back Leo the Cop, he was the best.

Michael (Oakland Mike), Tuesday, 5 December 2006 09:07 (nineteen years ago)

from bad to just as bad

the scientology thing does make it worse, too. heard about jason bohring, the other week

RJG (RJG), Tuesday, 5 December 2006 09:16 (nineteen years ago)

oh my god you guys are the biggest bunch of cap'n-kill-a-shows I ever met

Matt Cibula (Formerly, the Haikunym), Tuesday, 5 December 2006 12:24 (nineteen years ago)

you're right. it was great when they ref'd annie hall this week

RJG (RJG), Tuesday, 5 December 2006 12:30 (nineteen years ago)

You guys are worse than TWOP. Someone should take away your opinions.

Donkey Kong New York (Lee), Tuesday, 5 December 2006 17:10 (nineteen years ago)

i just started watching this show with any regularity (it is impossible to come into half-way through the season, i tried the first two years but never understood the arcs at all, and in fact still don't understand a bunch of stuff). it's been good. there is a weird distance in everything though that unnerves me.

akm (akmonday), Tuesday, 5 December 2006 17:28 (nineteen years ago)

No one here is thinking about Logan-related slash, ergo we couldn't be worse than TWOP.

milo (milo), Tuesday, 5 December 2006 18:08 (nineteen years ago)

I was expecting more episodes where Veronica makes some huge breakthrough and learns something new and weird about the rapes rather than have it go from her making next to no progress at all over 8 episodes to suddenly solving it in the last one.

the show is developing a pattern this way. even during the first season, when she seemed to be making progress, she really wasn't. none of the evidence she collected pointed to the actual killer. there was just a shocking reveal in the final episode. same with season 2. I don't really have a problem with it, but the plotting is kind of schizophrenic.

horseshoe (horseshoe), Tuesday, 5 December 2006 18:16 (nineteen years ago)

I fiiinally caught up like 3 wks before hiatus. You have to admit, the scene w/ her running w/ that Fatboy Slim song was brilliantly done (as cliche'd as techno danger-chase scenes are, I have a severe soft spot for good ones).

less-than three's Christiane F. (drowned in milk), Tuesday, 5 December 2006 21:22 (nineteen years ago)

I hated the way she discovered the 'call-in' show was fake - like, wasn't that patently obvious to everyone involved? Shouldn't she have thought to check phone records from his show?

milo (milo), Tuesday, 5 December 2006 21:42 (nineteen years ago)

yeah but she is um EIGHTEEN YEARS OLD, isn't part of the appeal here that she's not always exactly Robo-Holmes?

Matt Cibula (Formerly, the Haikunym), Tuesday, 5 December 2006 21:46 (nineteen years ago)

whatever, they've made it pretty clear that she pretty much has super-powers, they oughta try to be consistent

hank s1ockli (hanks1ockli), Tuesday, 5 December 2006 22:06 (nineteen years ago)

i liked that he was basically an electrohouse dj tho

hank s1ockli (hanks1ockli), Tuesday, 5 December 2006 22:07 (nineteen years ago)

Milo, do you hate kittens because they evacuate organic waste?

Donkey Kong New York (Lee), Tuesday, 5 December 2006 22:46 (nineteen years ago)

yeah but she is um EIGHTEEN YEARS OLD, isn't part of the appeal here that she's not always exactly Robo-Holmes?

I just started season 1 via Netflix and that's pretty much how she's being portrayed.

I Am Curious (George) (Slight Return) (Rock Hardy), Tuesday, 5 December 2006 23:16 (nineteen years ago)

they oughta try to be consistent

Sometimes she's right. Sometimes she's wrong. Sometimes she's extremely perceptive. Sometimes she misses obvious points. She's almost exactly like a teenager, albeit one who tends to be much smarter than average.

Though she should've definitely popped up in the middle of the rapist's monologue saying "Save the speeches for Malcolm X..."

Andy_K (Andy_K), Wednesday, 6 December 2006 02:04 (nineteen years ago)

Hahahaha I can't even begin to express how inappropriate that was

less-than three's Christiane F. (drowned in milk), Wednesday, 6 December 2006 08:40 (nineteen years ago)

YOU DON'T DESERVE MY FUCKING SPEECH!

Jay (jaymacke), Wednesday, 6 December 2006 14:25 (nineteen years ago)

And how appropriate is it that her name is Veronica?

Andy_K (Andy_K), Wednesday, 6 December 2006 14:55 (nineteen years ago)

YOU DON'T DESERVE MY FUCKING SPEECH!

He just wanted to get laid....

less-than three's Christiane F. (drowned in milk), Wednesday, 6 December 2006 23:30 (nineteen years ago)

two months pass...
Logan/11-year-old playing Mario Kart = awww!

Donkey Kong New York (Lee), Thursday, 15 February 2007 19:20 (nineteen years ago)

But someone needs to walk me through the O'Dell revelation this week -- what about the car being checked out and the on-the-side Prof. arguing with an hombre?

Donkey Kong New York (Lee), Thursday, 15 February 2007 19:22 (nineteen years ago)

remember in that last O'Dell episode the adulterous couple was surprised in the hotel room and went all like "you?"

Matt Cibula (Formerly, the Haikunym), Thursday, 15 February 2007 19:24 (nineteen years ago)

O YA.

Donkey Kong New York (Lee), Thursday, 15 February 2007 21:56 (nineteen years ago)
