i realize that the ads like say tom cruise's name on the marquee next to the title but i feel like the shots of him are so fleeting and brief that the first couple times i saw commercials for this i was like "oh what's the renner/pegg/patton movie, looks like it could be good...wait are they doing a MI movie without cruise?"
― some dude (Mr. Stevenson #2), Thursday, 29 December 2011 21:53 (fourteen years ago)
<3 mrs. thicke though
― some dude (Mr. Stevenson #2), Thursday, 29 December 2011 21:54 (fourteen years ago)
oh man that's ms. thicke? *wolf whistles*
the blonde chick in this is way sexy too
― nice catch cuauhtemoc blanco niño (dayo), Thursday, 29 December 2011 21:55 (fourteen years ago)
I'm so glad I watched this w/o knowing that or I would have been imagining mr. thicke going "...and bringing her to multiple orgasms" on and on in my head
― nice catch cuauhtemoc blanco niño (dayo), Thursday, 29 December 2011 21:56 (fourteen years ago)

― Cooper Chucklebutt, Friday, 30 December 2011 15:30 (fourteen years ago)
it was funny how there was an even hotter girl in the movie so she had to kick her out the window of the tallest building in the world
― Cooper Chucklebutt, Friday, 30 December 2011 15:31 (fourteen years ago)
I was p bummed when that happened
― nice catch cuauhtemoc blanco niño (dayo), Friday, 30 December 2011 15:34 (fourteen years ago)
hoped that she maybe would have landed on a jet plane and then surprised him @ the end maybe by kicking in his windshield or something
or texting or maybe skyping
― Cooper Chucklebutt, Friday, 30 December 2011 15:40 (fourteen years ago)
my fav iphone scene was the final one when theyre all sitting around the table basking in the glow of success and he passes out iphones for the new mission but it seems more like hes giving them a bonus gift 'aaand YOU ALLL GET IPHONES'
― Cooper Chucklebutt, Friday, 30 December 2011 15:42 (fourteen years ago)
man we already have so many iphones
― Cooper Chucklebutt, Friday, 30 December 2011 15:43 (fourteen years ago)

― iatee, Friday, 30 December 2011 15:44 (fourteen years ago)

― nice catch cuauhtemoc blanco niño (dayo), Friday, 30 December 2011 15:45 (fourteen years ago)
its dece, prob the worst of the four tho
― Cooper Chucklebutt, Friday, 30 December 2011 15:45 (fourteen years ago)
I prob can't convince my gf to see it either way but the previews looked cool
― iatee, Friday, 30 December 2011 15:45 (fourteen years ago)
I only saw the previews on a giant times sq screen tho
― iatee, Friday, 30 December 2011 15:46 (fourteen years ago)
didn't have enough of a 'dark edge' to it imo, it was all fun & good times
― nice catch cuauhtemoc blanco niño (dayo), Friday, 30 December 2011 15:46 (fourteen years ago)
kinda like mi4: oceans fourteen
personally, i love the mission impossible films
― Cooper Chucklebutt, Friday, 30 December 2011 15:47 (fourteen years ago)
but yeah agreed that it was a lil fluffy compared to the others
brian depalma/jon woo/jj abrams/brad bird is such a weird team of directors to have this franchised passeda round among

hey guys iphones only r great when combined with many different types of bmw
things tom cruise has taught me
― big popppa hoy, Friday, 30 December 2011 15:49 (fourteen years ago)
i love how they get a new superstar dude for each installment xp
― Cooper Chucklebutt, Friday, 30 December 2011 15:50 (fourteen years ago)
maybe if their iphones crashed or they held it the wrong way and lost reception at a crucial point idk
― nice catch cuauhtemoc blanco niño (dayo), Friday, 30 December 2011 15:50 (fourteen years ago)
everything is v high end in these films
they had some reception problems iirc
wondering how james bond & Q will respond, maybe they will use android phones
― nice catch cuauhtemoc blanco niño (dayo), Friday, 30 December 2011 15:51 (fourteen years ago)
they should fn hacks
― Cooper Chucklebutt, Friday, 30 December 2011 15:51 (fourteen years ago)
I was feelin p nervous at the end cuz none of the iphones had protective cases I mean come on your iphone is probably gonna get scratched up next time you roundhouse some terrorist in the face
― nice catch cuauhtemoc blanco niño (dayo), Friday, 30 December 2011 15:52 (fourteen years ago)
at least put some bumpers on it, maybe an incase
its ok they have access to infinite iphones
― Cooper Chucklebutt, Friday, 30 December 2011 15:54 (fourteen years ago)
also can simon pegg go away
he can go play with his new apple products off screen somewhere
― big popppa hoy, Friday, 30 December 2011 15:55 (fourteen years ago)
you don't get to become an IMF agent by acting like you have infinite iphones, though
― nice catch cuauhtemoc blanco niño (dayo), Friday, 30 December 2011 15:55 (fourteen years ago)
I thought simon pegg was okay in this but I dunno if he ever transcended the LOL BRITISHES category
― nice catch cuauhtemoc blanco niño (dayo), Friday, 30 December 2011 15:56 (fourteen years ago)
SPOLIER*******was really dumb how the whole plot revelved around the thing w/his significant other then at the end they were all lol not true********END SPILOER
― Cooper Chucklebutt, Friday, 30 December 2011 15:56 (fourteen years ago)
its cool they have an app to make sure what u read on the internets is spoiler-free if you haven't seen a film yet
― big popppa hoy, Friday, 30 December 2011 15:58 (fourteen years ago)
yeah I think maybe getting brad bird to direct this was a mistake, he's still too pixar-fied
― nice catch cuauhtemoc blanco niño (dayo), Friday, 30 December 2011 15:58 (fourteen years ago)
simon peggs whole comedy relief role was so dumb and hackish, like he doesnt bother me but his part was garbage
― Cooper Chucklebutt, Friday, 30 December 2011 15:58 (fourteen years ago)
it also turned jeremy renner from a motherfucker w/ some dark secrets into a big huggable teddy bear

― big popppa hoy, Friday, 30 December 2011 16:01 (fourteen years ago)
yah but the recommendations are pretty outdated by now, 5 years later, I suggest you get an iphone
― nice catch cuauhtemoc blanco niño (dayo), Friday, 30 December 2011 16:01 (fourteen years ago)
wait did they not do a pop update of the MI theme for this movie? first 3 movies had the U2 rhythm section, Limp Bizkit and Kanye West, the mind reels at who they could've done it in 2011
― some dude (Mr. Stevenson #2), Friday, 30 December 2011 16:03 (fourteen years ago)
i think the technology most publicized in the MI3 promotional cycle was Yung Joc ringtones
― some dude (Mr. Stevenson #2), Friday, 30 December 2011 16:04 (fourteen years ago)
mi3 is p good, a lil too much torture for my tastes, but overall not bad
― Cooper Chucklebutt, Friday, 30 December 2011 16:04 (fourteen years ago)
focus group feedback: 'a little less torture, a little more hot babes, tnx'

and also Tom Cruise doing the "It's Goin' Down" motorcycle dance
I don't think he rode a motorcycle in this one
― nice catch cuauhtemoc blanco niño (dayo), Friday, 30 December 2011 16:08 (fourteen years ago)
he ran fast a lot though
often after jumping off buildings, being hit w/ explosions, being hit by cars - he has dedication to sprints
― big popppa hoy, Friday, 30 December 2011 16:09 (fourteen years ago)
ran down a building at one point too

― some dude (Mr. Stevenson #2), Friday, 30 December 2011 16:20 (fourteen years ago)
Saw this yesterday...decent fluff, but too long and the sitting around with iphones at the end made me wanna scream. re the spoiler at the end, I was hoping that Cruise was trying to make Renner feel better with a total lie, but I guess that wasn't the case.
― William (C), Friday, 30 December 2011 17:35 (fourteen years ago)
haha "she's actually alive" *cut to shot of badly decomposed body in 55 gallon drum* *tom cruise gives a hollow grin*

anyway fun stunt movie, i haven't seen the other ones in yrs but i don't recall the brian diploma one being so bombastic and the only thing that happened in the john woo one was tom jumping off a motorcycle, so this was just brad bird having fun with all that apple/bmw money right
― a collection of gruff, big-balled boasts (zachylon), Sunday, 1 January 2012 19:06 (fourteen years ago)
ugh, this movie bit. i mean, normally i love simon pegg, but jesus, the geeky sidekick schtick was just groanworthy. also, what, cruise can take out 3 armed, burly, bearded russian gangsters in 1.4 seconds with his bare hands, but can't beat a 50 year old finnish college professor in fisticuffs over the course of like 10 minutes? just take out your gun and shoot him already!
also, do you think apple gave them any money to put some iphones in this movie?
― messiahwannabe, Monday, 2 January 2012 13:37 (fourteen years ago)
