http://www.cheaptraveljapan.com/japanese-food/big-america-series-back-at-mcdonalds-japan

The series starts off this week with the Texas 2 Burger. This burger features grated cheese on the bun, hot chili beans, onions, bacon, and a mustard dressing.

The Idaho Burger (coming soon) also looks good. A burger with a hash brown, onions, a soft bun, bacon, cheese, and a mustard dressing.

The Miami Burger (coming soon) tips a hat to Latin American food. It features cheese, tortilla chips, shredded lettuce, and taco meat with a spicy tomato chili sauce. It sounds like a taco-burger of sorts.

There is also the Manhattan Burger (coming soon) which will feature a large beef patty and pastrami (!!) on a stylish bun, designed to look like a deli sandwich (according to the McDonald’s Japan menu). Also on the burger will be lettuce, onion, and a sour cream sauce.

never had pastrami on a burger - sounds plausible though

also not bothered by the gaijin joke in the ad.

manhattan looks more edible than anything at an american mcdonalds

iatee, Sunday, 18 December 2011 01:53 (fourteen years ago)

I'm intrigued by the idea of using the top hanger of a big mac to store ingredients other than a beef patty

nice catch cuauhtemoc blanco niño (dayo), Sunday, 18 December 2011 01:54 (fourteen years ago)

wait I just realized that the manhattan has a burger *and* pastrami and not just pastrami, so I'm taking back my edible comment

iatee, Sunday, 18 December 2011 01:55 (fourteen years ago)

Idaho over Texas 2, the others make me sad

moonbop, Sunday, 18 December 2011 02:22 (fourteen years ago)

Manhattan looks like the a small version of a gross 6" "burger sub" I ate in Brussels once

moonbop, Sunday, 18 December 2011 02:24 (fourteen years ago)

except it's missing French fries as a topping

moonbop, Sunday, 18 December 2011 02:25 (fourteen years ago)

A local fast food place has had pastrami burgers for decades. It's a nice combo. Manhattan all the way.

feel like its unfair that other countries can get fast food unavailable to us, like this is our thing we should get it all

shook, Sunday, 18 December 2011 23:38 (fourteen years ago)

it was more the towering, precarious construction, the lack of background limits a sense of scale, i am assuming the above burger is approx 100m tall
