It says. Most amusing thing about the article -- a refusal to discuss entry number 3.

Is "numa numa" the mayahe mayahaha guy?

Also...

A TV news clip from 1970 of an exploding whale - in which giant pieces of whale blubber rained down on people a quarter of a mile away - has been viewed 350 million times and earned its own website.

Someone please show me where I can find this!

Hint -- check 'Related Internet Links' on that page. And yes, that's the guy.

Channel boss Steve North said: "It's now official - with viewing figures like this, virals truly are the entertainment of the future.

so it's only a matter of time until someone, somehow, finds a way of squeezing money out of the life of it all. ie steve north.

I'd love to be the boss at one of those viral ad firms just so I could say something snappy like "Our ads are getting trounced by a retard swinging a stick"

The exploding whale clip was one of the first viral things going round the net - I remember reading about it in Fortean Times in the early 90s, complete with the addresses of a few FTP servers which had it.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Monday, 27 November 2006 17:07 (seventeen years ago) link

Okay, I just watched "Afrp Ninja". Wasn't really worth it.

Tuomas (Tuomas), Monday, 27 November 2006 17:09 (seventeen years ago) link

I find it weird that people seem to relate "Dragostea Din Tei" to that video, because it was major hit way before that... Though not in the US, probably.

Tuomas (Tuomas), Monday, 27 November 2006 17:11 (seventeen years ago) link

And I think it's probably the most perfect pop hit of the 00's.

Tuomas (Tuomas), Monday, 27 November 2006 17:12 (seventeen years ago) link

Plus it's own video is better than that kid.
