feeling their frozen mac & cheese

not really feeling garlic fries (their normal frozen fries are good), or the frozen sauteed onions (too balsalmic-y)

still shoveling lemon chocolate sugar cookies tho

the mac n cheese is the best

I bought a can of their corn but it's still canned

low fat mac and cheese is just as good too

not that I give a shit but you know

eggnog covered almonds - so so addictive

holy shit the peppermint green tea is the best thing i have ever put in my body

i think the lowfat mac & cheese is the same as the full fat, there's just less of it in the box.

trader Joe's pot pies are disgusting

thumbs up to the black bean & corn enchiladas -- i think they're from amy's or cedarlane. i added some of the tj's double roasted salsa, and *mwah*.

i'm not a big fan of their non-french-vanilla ice creams but the peppermint/cookies & cream one is better than most

the gorgonzola crackers are really dry :(

I got a box of the sea salted chocolate caramels and all the salt came off the candies! Im trying to place little salt rocks back on these things but it's not sticking.

chicken satay was totally disappointing. meh.

I feel like TJ subcontracts out to different wholesale mftrs and the quality of the food will depend on that mftr

I have divined that their vegetable masala burger uses the exact same filling as their veggie samosas

don't think i dislike any TJ cookie tho, and i've had nearly all of them at this point

the medium roast one is pretty good imo

breakfast blend, columbia supremo are the only medium roast one. well I think there's another, but...

'medium dark roast' and 'dark roast' and 'extra' dark roast' are all rubbish. anything that's a dark roast is rubbish. hides the bean

I've not been very pleased with TJ's coffee in the past, but we currently have the fair trade Bolivian breakfast blend which is a "medium dark" roast and that one is actually good. I would buy it again when I'm too lazy to go buy coffee from these guys.

Wait, this is on Intelligentsia's about page and I don't think I can buy their coffee in good conscience anymore:

i like the tarrazzo (?) coffee the best, the one with the packaging that looks like old-timey tattoo art. it is a little chocolatey but not overwhelmingly. their "morning joe" coffee isn't bad for el cheapo coffee either, it's like good diner coffee.

there are a couple "artisan" ice cream companies here that do peppermint ice cream year round! I think it's McConnell's Peppermint Stick that is my fave.

I like the Bali Blue Moon coffee too, never noticed any weird chocolateyness.

The best coffee I've ever had was from TJ's, a Mocha Sana'ani from Yemen, back in the 80s. Never seen it since.

Trader Joe's eggnog cookies–no. I really disliked them, so I gave them to a friend to try. She tried one, made a face, and agreed to throw them out.

also yesterday my cashier asked me 2x consecutively if i had "survived my monday" and both times i responded "i guess i'm still here..." and then on the way out he told me to be more positive about my future. !?!?

Since no one in my family lives within thousands of miles of one of these places, it just occurred to me to buy them all 3 kinds of candy/cookies/spiced nuts as stocking stuffers. I'm gonna be the most popular person there.

crab rangoon is available elsewhere but it's horrid ime, compared to boston. kinda like trying to find good clam chowder outside new england.
