Because now is around when I'd normally bump my Krampus thread.

I just found out that the plural of Krampus in German is Krampusse. I find that delightful.

Krampus Day - December 5th

Although some parts of Austria celebrate Krampus day on the 6th, the 5th of December has traditonally been the day that devil-like Krampus roam the streets punishing those for their bad doings thoughout the year. They are often accompanied by St. Nicholas and can be found in parades in the evening. The Krampus, as seen below, often wear wooden masks, are dressed in animal furs, and often carry bells, chains, whips, and baskets with them. In case you were wondering about the baskets, they carry them on their backs in case the Krampus need to take away the children who've been bad throughout the year.

i had 2 glühweins and ~3 beers. great times! the noise was incredible. there was a bit where they just stand in a circle and make as much noise as possible. it was like boadrum77 or sth. if you are girl with long hair then watch out, they love you.

ha they got in trouble with the police for getting in the fountain. i have a video of that bit i will post later.

I am glad that Christmas markets are becoming a thing in the UK too now (had many fine ciders and a bratwurst in the faux-German beer tent at the Belfast one) but what they definitely do not have is enough Krampusse, wkiw
