nakhchivan, Wednesday, 30 November 2011 23:49 (twelve years ago) link

put it up in three days, like everything else his shower ever built iirc

Sad Banter (p much resigned to deems), Wednesday, 30 November 2011 23:50 (twelve years ago) link

there isn't a lot mysterious about it, contra the irish times' description

nakhchivan, Wednesday, 30 November 2011 23:55 (twelve years ago) link

except for discerning what he wants now, the fuckwit

Sad Banter (p much resigned to deems), Wednesday, 30 November 2011 23:56 (twelve years ago) link

There's a concretehenge in the middle of nowhere, near Marysville, WA. I'll see if I can scrounge up a pic.

Aimless, Thursday, 1 December 2011 00:00 (twelve years ago) link

winnipeg iirc

Sad Banter (p much resigned to deems), Thursday, 1 December 2011 00:00 (twelve years ago) link

For some queer reason this one is designated as a memorial to WWI war dead.

complained the oblivious local.

estela, Thursday, 1 December 2011 00:07 (twelve years ago) link

these are all crap, as is the original stonehenge which postdates the immeasurably superior great pyramid of giza

nakhchivan, Thursday, 1 December 2011 00:07 (twelve years ago) link

i'm not local i'm from the next village over fyi

estela, Thursday, 1 December 2011 00:20 (twelve years ago) link

Sad Banter (p much resigned to deems), Thursday, 1 December 2011 00:21 (twelve years ago) link

And still another concrete Stonehenge (AND Easter Island Heads) I visited built by a farmer outside Hunt, Texas (2 hours west of San Antonio).

yes this is the real (snoball), Thursday, 1 December 2011 00:23 (twelve years ago) link

There are quite a few Stonehenge replicas around America.

Sanpaku, Thursday, 1 December 2011 00:24 (twelve years ago) link

Wow. Just... wow.

All it needs is a prog band playing a solistice sunrise gig in the middle of it.

Fotherington Thomas, Thursday, 1 December 2011 11:26 (twelve years ago) link

you have given me a weekend wdyll mission

nakhchivan, Friday, 2 December 2011 01:15 (twelve years ago) link

extra points if you persuade that local maiden of yore to be in the photo.

estela, Friday, 2 December 2011 01:17 (twelve years ago) link

her fat oafish husband may take issue tbph

Sad Banter (p much resigned to deems), Friday, 2 December 2011 01:18 (twelve years ago) link

extra extra points then plus a bonus if you are sporting a black eye and a bandaid on your forehead.

estela, Friday, 2 December 2011 01:23 (twelve years ago) link

you seriously overestimate my dedication to this project

Sad Banter (p much resigned to deems), Friday, 2 December 2011 01:33 (twelve years ago) link

nakhchivan, Friday, 2 December 2011 01:35 (twelve years ago) link

xp to self

Her last words to me were pretty similar iirc ;_;

Sad Banter (p much resigned to deems), Friday, 2 December 2011 01:36 (twelve years ago) link

I'm mostly disappointed that the henge is only one circle deep, when AS ANY FULE KNO the real Stonehenge had at least two courses (and many other banks and ditches and posts etc.)

Fotherington Thomas, Friday, 2 December 2011 11:49 (twelve years ago) link

one weekend tbf, if the council hadn't hobbled him he'd have the equivalent of hadrian's wall around the island by now

Sad Banter (p much resigned to deems), Friday, 2 December 2011 11:53 (twelve years ago) link

How about a couple of long barrows? No prehistoric landscape is complete without some good long barrows. Any idiot can throw up a henge, but a long barrow takes real dedication.

Fotherington Thomas, Friday, 2 December 2011 11:55 (twelve years ago) link

it's a bog, there are two-metre ditches for miles all around

Sad Banter (p much resigned to deems), Friday, 2 December 2011 11:58 (twelve years ago) link

Sacrifice some local peasants to make Lindlow Bog-Men, then.

that's always a risk when building a solstice-aligned neolithic monument in ireland, you wonder who would lend money to a developer like that

awesome to have a clever englishman zinging yr enemies (nakhchivan), Wednesday, 21 December 2011 17:35 (twelve years ago) link

Dunno how those neolithic lads ever knew the damn thing worked. Was the weather different back then?
