do guys have some pro tips for travelling from the bay area to vancouver?? we are doing a two week road trip, with definite stops in portland, seattle and vancouver, but would love some ideas for stuff to do in between!

The Oregon coast is pretty darn lovely. Robert's Books in Lincoln City A++++ used bookshop. Gracie's Sea Hag in Depoe Bay (and tiny Depoe Bay itself) is awesome in its own completely unique way.

5 things to do in seattle:

1. see jaq's lovely house
2. drink on the porch with me and lxy
3. go up in the space needle. no really it is awesome and worth $20, i love it
4. neighborhoods neighborhoods neighborhoods: georgetown, capitol hill, fremont, ballard, wallingford, u-district, lower queen anne, belltown etc etc etc. (jaq have you ever been to leschi? lol lived here most of my life and had never been until last month, great turkish food in a shishi area)
5. go see some art. we live by this place http://www.westernbridge.org/

I did that very route! I loved the total rainforest feeling on the road between from Florence to Eugene, giant drippy ferns etc.

I lived in Madrona, just north and above the part of Leschi that is down on the lake. Have eaten down there (Bluewater bistro, Daniel's broiler mostly) and shopped in the Leschi market, but haven't really explored it. I think the part that is up the ridge and south of the Madrona fault has a different feel, more CD than shishi.

Definitely go see art - if you are here for second Saturday, the whole of Georgetown throws open its doors. Also - Fantagraphics.

thanks for all these hospitality offers but as i explained to jaq: i get really weird about staying at ppl's houses, idk why but it gives me major anxiety. so we'll just stay at motel or something.

we get into seattle sometime in the afternoon on thurs may 26th, and we are staying at the maxwell hotel, 300 Roy Street
Seattle, WA 98109,
and we leave early sunday morning for vancouver.

we don't really have any plans for seattle at this stage, apart from a visit to fantagraphics, so we are totally open to hanging with all you guys whenever.

i will try not to eat all the ANZAC biscuits before we get there!!

i want to cook for you, and last weekend i got all kinds of funny vegan 'meat' from the adventist market in walla walla so, can i cook 2x for you? because i also want to make for you my specialty tacos.

where did you go?

we went everywhere you can go in two days, i think. i liked georgetown! i also liked the beach. most of all i loved the produce market though! i was thinking about it just now. we also went to kubota garden which was great. and tacky flea market, we got a sambusa from a somali lady and it was delicious. also the best public library. i did go to mine yesterday and did not lament its lack of things, i like them both.

also jaq's shower is awesome :)
