Me, I spent too much on e-bay on records. Not a lot by any standards, but when I'd decided I wasn't going to...

how did you fill your time?

M Grout (Mark Grout), Tuesday, 15 August 2006 14:10 (eighteen years ago) link

Last FM Watercooler group.

You don't want to know how many pictures of Secret Machines I posted there...

masonic boom (kate), Tuesday, 15 August 2006 14:12 (eighteen years ago) link

I WORKED.

Madchen (Madchen), Tuesday, 15 August 2006 14:13 (eighteen years ago) link

I added a load of crap to wikipedia.

Billy Dods (Billy Dods), Tuesday, 15 August 2006 14:13 (eighteen years ago) link

I got the UN to pass that ceasefire resolution and I was just starting on Sri Lanka when I saw this.

nedtrifle, Tuesday, 15 August 2006 14:15 (eighteen years ago) link

I was bored as hell and took long walks. Now my feet hurt. :-(

StanM (StanM), Tuesday, 15 August 2006 14:16 (eighteen years ago) link

Kate posted nearly 30 pics.

pfunkboy (Kerr), Tuesday, 15 August 2006 14:17 (eighteen years ago) link

Picked lint out of my navel, stared at blank wall.

William Crump (Rock Hardy), Tuesday, 15 August 2006 14:18 (eighteen years ago) link

HI DERE

pain, Tuesday, 15 August 2006 14:23 (eighteen years ago) link

Worked, mainly. Strangely enough I got quite a lot done over the last couple of days.

Norman Phay (Pashmina), Tuesday, 15 August 2006 14:26 (eighteen years ago) link

Sunday I moved my only child off to college. I really needed ILX yesterday for brain-novocaine.

William Crump (Rock Hardy), Tuesday, 15 August 2006 14:28 (eighteen years ago) link

Yesterday I opened myspace at like 9:15 am, and then a client came in and time-burgled a few of my hours, and I only realized about 1 pm that myspace had been open that whole time.

nklshs, Tuesday, 15 August 2006 14:39 (eighteen years ago) link

I've been wading through code for our 14+ sites fixing little problems before we upgrade to php5. When I get a chance I've been peeking into the ilxor developer group and trying to wade through some of this code.

I have a headache.

Ms Misery (MsMisery), Tuesday, 15 August 2006 14:55 (eighteen years ago) link

I emailed people off ILX.

(actually I missed the weekend meltdown because I wasn't in a world that has computers in it, i.e. my mum and dad's house)

ailsa_xx (ailsa_xx), Tuesday, 15 August 2006 15:00 (eighteen years ago) link

I've been trapped in wedding hell because of my boss, the bride.

Aimee (luna), Tuesday, 15 August 2006 15:01 (eighteen years ago) link

Why is "HI DERE" up top right of this thread?

M Grout (Mark Grout), Tuesday, 15 August 2006 15:02 (eighteen years ago) link

I've been at senate house library, where the internet is pretty non-existent, so I would have missed a lot anyway.

g00blar, Tuesday, 15 August 2006 15:02 (eighteen years ago) link

i don't know, mark, but i approve!

nklshs, Tuesday, 15 August 2006 15:04 (eighteen years ago) link

Work, mostly. There's going to be a telling and worrisome blip of increased productivity that I hope no-one notices.

M White, Tuesday, 15 August 2006 15:06 (eighteen years ago) link

i just stared at news sites and played online games mindlessly.

i like the 'hi dere'.

JuliaA (JuliaA), Tuesday, 15 August 2006 15:14 (eighteen years ago) link

I did the wee beginner minesweeper in 2 seconds, and nearly did a lap of honour round my office.

ailsa_xx (ailsa_xx), Tuesday, 15 August 2006 15:16 (eighteen years ago) link

What "hi dere"?

masonic boom (kate), Tuesday, 15 August 2006 15:16 (eighteen years ago) link

scroll to the top of an answer thread, it's on the right.

JuliaA (JuliaA), Tuesday, 15 August 2006 15:17 (eighteen years ago) link

The HI DERE was "me@here" 's work.

His/her "background: organge" doesn't work, though. (I wonder why... :-) )

StanM (StanM), Tuesday, 15 August 2006 15:18 (eighteen years ago) link

Hello everyone! When ILX went away, I started playing X3: Reunion. The baddies are called the kha'ak. I can't tell whether the developers even noticed that this sounds like "cock". If they have they're managing to play it very straight. It's full of lines like "no fighter pilot has ever survived a full scale attack from the kha'ak!" and "I've got a handful of kha'ak coming at me from behind" and things. It's great!

JimD, Tuesday, 15 August 2006 15:18 (eighteen years ago) link

Ah, DERE it is.

masonic boom (kate), Tuesday, 15 August 2006 15:20 (eighteen years ago) link

i should have thought to take civ out in the absence of ilx. unfortunately, on mondays, i am incapable of thought.

JuliaA (JuliaA), Tuesday, 15 August 2006 15:20 (eighteen years ago) link

i saw my computer screen pixelize - is that even a word/verb - and also took long walks like stanm. my feet hurt too. i also bombarded my delicious page with lots of knit-related links.

stevie nixed (stevienixed), Tuesday, 15 August 2006 17:13 (eighteen years ago) link

i mostly hit "refresh" in my RSS reader a lot and then got frustrated that none of my bookmarked blogs had been updated in the past 5 minutes. you could always count on ilx for that. :(

mickey, Tuesday, 15 August 2006 17:14 (eighteen years ago) link

I discovered http://www.43things.com/ and spent some time reading that.

And I also discovered how much I really missed ILX and all the people there :(

C J, Tuesday, 15 August 2006 17:20 (eighteen years ago) link

Ah, 43things! Great stuff, I'm all over that these days.

Work, yes I did that. And fielded questions.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Tuesday, 15 August 2006 17:21 (eighteen years ago) link

i even loaded metafilter i was so bored. what a mistake that was.

mickey, Tuesday, 15 August 2006 17:24 (eighteen years ago) link

(This is where I confess that I found 43things because I was panicking at there being no ILX so I googled Ned's name).

I am like your own private internet stalker, Mr Raggett, I hope you don't mind :)

C J (C J), Tuesday, 15 August 2006 17:27 (eighteen years ago) link

What, just the one? ;-)

Ned Raggett (Ned), Tuesday, 15 August 2006 17:30 (eighteen years ago) link

Yes. I have slain all the others.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Tuesday, 15 August 2006 17:35 (eighteen years ago) link

"rimshot" always sounds ever-so-slightly rude, somehow. Perhaps I should wash my brane out with carbolic soap.

nklshs (nklshs), Tuesday, 15 August 2006 20:51 (eighteen years ago) link

Amazingly, having got my head down and worked considerably more than usual, I'm somehow in a worse place work-wise than I was a week ago.

I also went to Dorset. That was nice.

i worked, then went away for the weekend. before i went, i got a message from stet saying he'd set up a sandbox on this space. when i came back, it was full of ILX0rs. utterly bizarre, in a rather joyous way.
