do you have older relatives who have rather too much respect for politicians, Royalty, ppl who work in "the professions" etc? and if so do you find their attitude odd or even frustrating?

do you think that there was anything good at all abt the days when ppl deferred to "their betters"?

My grandmother in law (can you say such a thing?) is quite interested in the royal family. I don't think it's silly nor stupid, as I like Pop/Hollywood gossip. Same thing really.

No, if anything the older members of my family (all dead now, tho) used to complain about how "common" politicians and professional people were all becoming. NQOCD and all that.

I hate this kind of crap so much that I won't tolerate a doctor who insists on using his or her last name. If they're allowed to call me by my first name, I don't see why I can't do likewise. My mother thinks this is a strange and belligerent attitude to take.
