I would like James Bond films to be 10 minutes long, where he would spend the first 5 minutes in a toilet and then get killed by the first bad guy he meets. That would be a proper way to do them.

Well we could argue the toss about whether he could've been stopped earlier. I think it's immaterial to talk about whether WWII was "just" or "necessary". It happened. No war is necessary in that sense. Power be confronting power, isn't it?
