I now have a New River walks leaflet.

I propose a walk from Palmers Green railway station to Capel Manor, stopping off in Enfield Town for lunch.

I think Kate would like Capel Manor.

Their website is here

Err, what's going on here?

Space aliens in a country house garden? Awesome!

yes let's walk. when? i cannot do this weekend (23-4), or the one after (3-4) but the one after that is good.

Sunday 11th?

You can get to Palmers Green from King's Cross by train. Alternatively, buses 121 or 329 will take you there from either Turnpike Lane or the next stop, Wood Green on the Piccadilly Line.

What time shall we meet? Is 11.00 ok for people?

or from old st. or i might bike it, how easy is it to get to startpoint from endpoint?

I may (I hope!) have my hand in a cast that weekend, but that should not stop walking.

I'm up for this, though I'll possibly melt away when it turns into Country Life.

(also it says the Gardens are closed at the weekends during 'winter months')

Emsk, I've sent you TFL's views on the cycle. Green Lanes appears to be the longest road anywhere ever.

What is the point of going for a walk in the country if it DOESN'T go all Country Life?

i wanna do a different one for the way back bc it's lots of places i haven't been. and there are one-way bits and things.

I am sad to miss a walk. :-/

Yeah, the second half is pretty much the same as the TFL. Unsurprisingly its recommendation for the first half is "Get to River, head straight up until you're nearly heading away from your destination, then head west (to the start of Bruce Grove)

I think we should perhaps make it 11.30 not 11. I am seriously doubting my ability to make it on time otherwise!
