Has anyone else watched "Tim and Eric Awesome Show Great Job"? (New Adult Swim live action 11-minute sketch show with the guys who did the divisive 'Tom Goes to the Mayor').

I haven't laughed this hard in a long, long time. Surely since "Mr. Show." Tears streaming/sides hurting/mind blown kind of laughing. The kind of thing where you think of a bit at a random time during the day and laugh out loud recalling it.

Deeply surreal, insanely unique. I think a strong argument could be made for the idea that these guys have taken filmed comedy to a place it's never been before.

I loved Tom Goes to the Mayor! But I don't watch TV really anymore so yeah.

There hasn't been a single thing about the promotional campaign that has made me think I would like this show (and I did like "Tom Goes to the Mayor").

I've seen a bunch of promos for this that I've never been able to understand, I'm kind of amazed that this is actually the title of the show.

That said, I've been meaning to watch Saul of the Mole People or whatever. Tivo says there is "adult content", is that true? The boy saw a preview and wants to watch it, I don't want him to watch it though if it's full of dildos or something.

i have no respect for people who watch this shit

DEAR ADULT SWIM,

PLEASE KEEP DOING CARTOONS/ANIMATED THINGS, SINCE YOU ARE ON "THE CARTOON NETWORK" AND NOT "THE NETWORK FULL OF ATTENTION-SEEKING LOSER DOUCHES" (AKA "G4").

Jesus Dan (dan perry), Tuesday, 20 February 2007 15:59 (seventeen years ago) link

G4?

no show has yet topped the little-seen and short-lived Sheldon Crosby's Ice Escape for me (what Monty Python was based on)

Euai Kapaui (tracerhand), Tuesday, 20 February 2007 16:03 (seventeen years ago) link

the only real difference was that instead of a cartoon foot coming down at the end of the credits, there was an explosion of electric guitar noise and hot dogs

I recently watched all thirteen ep's of that Awesome X/ killface show on youtube. Cartoon Network, you have redeemed yourself.

Haven't seen Tim & eric Awesome (and like Dan, can't say I've been bowled over by the promos) but I am willing to give it a chance. When I go over to my girlfriend's house to watch the fancy cable.

Two of their presenters are AI Season 1 castoff Kristen Holt and RW:NO freakface Julie Stoffer. (Also full disclosure: I do watch and enjoy various shows on the network, like X-Play, but I still do see the tooliness from time to time.)

The first 2 Tim & Eric eps. feature John C. Reilly as a profoundly confused news reporter, and he is unbelievable.

Adult content, hmm? Trying to think since I don't usually watch things with that filter... I don't think so, though it is a bit disturbing, I guess. Really creepy, even - there's a guy with his lips ripped off, people with scary makeup slathered on. I guess there's a few balls jokes (i.e. people getting hit in the crotch). Oh, I bet it gets that tag automatically because one of them smokes a joint in one scene. Maybe?

Mostly the jokes are all based around uncomfortable silences, awkward social interactions, and technical difficulties. It's very, very weird, but I am obsessed.

Scary! I was just wondering whatever happened to Kristen Holt last week during AI. Not that she was great or anything, I was just marveling at how well Seacrest managed to jettison her and Dunkelman.
