V quick Ipod question

My mum has just got an ipod and she'd like me to upload some of my mp3 collection to it. Is there any reason why this would either screw up my iTunes or screw up her iPod - I know they're not big on sharing this kidn of thing? She'll also want to be able to put all her CDs onto it once she's got the songs off me.

Thanks!

you can't upload from more than one computer (when she goes to upload from her computer it will erase everything you put on from yours). Unless, you download a non-iTunes sanctioned plug-in. Or you can give her MP3s on a memory stick and she can put them on her itunes (or do the same as data on her ipod, rather than throught itunes)

Just bypass Itunes altogether and use Winamp to upload to her ipod.

Actually you can upload from more than one computer using iTunes, if you managed the iPod manually rather than the default behaviour of syncing automatically.
To be honest though it would probably be easier to add your songs to her library and continue to have it sync.

syncing is bonkers

Svend, that sounds straightforward - could you give me advice on how to do so? Bear in mind I also have all my songs and software and I don't want to bugger that up too.

Thanks again y'all

I know I used to do manual but felt this was still an issue (perhaps cross-OS it is?)

now I just have a shuffle and I'm not sure if manual is an option. will have to check. although it's really unimportant as the itunes on my work pc died so the only music library I have is on my home 'puter.

With any newish Winamp the ipod is supported without any plugins. Connect your ipod to the computer and then open winamp. Open the media library in Winamp and your ipod should appear under Devices. You can just grab anything that is in your library and drag it to the device and it will transfer automatically.
