Thing of The Week

Last year, in an effort to broaden my horizons and Try New Things, I spent several months on a Cheese of the Week project (until the local cheese deli ran out of new cheeses for me to try), followed by a Wine of the Week project, in which I thoroughly enjoyed trying a different bottle of plonk each week from a region I was unfamiliar with.

I am now trying the Tea of the Week project; this week I am trying the new taste sensation which is Twinings Lemon and Ginger tea, It smells nicer than it tastes to be honest, as it's a bit weak and watery even after leaving it to infuse for five minutes.

Please (a) recommend to me other types of tea which I could try in subsequent weeks, as maybe say what you like about them so much, and (b) maybe suggest other Things Of The Week which I might try over the coming months.

i'm having a pretty huge vanilla tea fad at the moment. it's a black tea with vanilla in it. not too sweet, but a refreshing flavour. joy!

i like your thing of the week idea, that's very cool. in a way i've doing the same thing since new year... i pick out and make a recipe that i've never made before each week. trying to get some use out of my enormous pile of cookbooks that i don't open terribly often. you could do this... or even just try a recipe which uses a new vegetable/fruit you haven't eaten before each week?

cj, stick a spoonful of honey in the lemon and ginger one and it really brings the ginger out.

Misread this as Thong of the Week, so perhaps CJ could do that too.

Twinings makes wank lemon/ginger tea. I prefer Yogi Tea's ginger tea, with some lemon thrown in if you feel like it (which I usually don't... ginger is great on its own)
