Anyone else been watching Teh Big Fights on ITV tonight?

Audley Harrison exposed as the chinny chancer we all knew he was. How the fuck this man keeps convincing people to give him top billing I don't know.

Amir Khan seemed to be booed for throwing the punch of his young life. Peachy right hand counter.

The wee bit on Benn vs McLellan took me back. I remember watching it in a pub in south London and being convinced McLellan took a dive after being seemingly counted out for nothing more than a glancing blow. He's a sorry state now - virtually blind and deaf and doesn't seem to have any recollection of the Benn fight.
(snide aside but Benn should have been disqualified for being helped back into the ring after being pummeled out of it, and McLennan may have gone on to be an all time great).

Also tonight: only the best toe-to-toe war since forever. Graham Earl was floored 3 times by Michael Katsidis in 4 minutes and his corner threw the towel in. The ref threw it out again because towel throwing doesn't count for shit - then Earl throws a right and deck Katsidis! They then spend 3 amazing rounds that could have been fought in a phone box before Earl, sadly, has to retire in his corner.

Best fight I've seen in years. Pair of warriors.

Americans also welcome!

WTF with Holyfield dragging his ass out of retirement? And Hopkins?

Where's the next decent heavyweight coming from? You look at the four belts and see "Maskaev, Valuev, Klitschko, Briggs" and wonder if Holyfield might actually manage a 5th world title.

Is this reality TV guy who's fighting Joe Calzaghe any good?

Am I the only drunken tit on here who likes boxing?

Are these matches being broadcast in the States?

No idea. Apart from Khan none of the guys fighting tonight will (IMO) ever amount to much at the top level so I don't know if America (or whoever decides what America gives a shit about) really gives a shit. To get noticed in America you've usually got to fight there.

Katsidis has an awesome record and could go on to greater things but he still almost got stopped by a guy he'd had on the floor 3 times in as many minutes.

Khan could be the next Naz, or he might even turn out to be able to beat world class boxers :)

The two guys on HBO tonight have awesome names. Edner Cherry and Macgilligander or something.

that fight was horrid, as was the one before it. enough with the speedy little white ppl with no pop.

also, I don't think the real deal ever rly retired, he just had his liscense suspended in multiple states for health reasons
