Also, the demo for the new Sam & Max game is out. The game is episodic, with a new one every month 'til May. The demo is fun and you guys should really try it out.

There's a song in ExciteTruck that sounds like Joe Satriani playing Magma.

adam., Tuesday, 28 November 2006 19:49 (seventeen years ago) link

What system is that

Jon Williams (ex machina), Tuesday, 28 November 2006 20:17 (seventeen years ago) link

I am officially going to my mom's house tonight to play Twilight Princess.

nklshs (nklshs), Tuesday, 28 November 2006 20:20 (seventeen years ago) link

your mom is my twilight princess

this is cutty (mcutt), Tuesday, 28 November 2006 20:24 (seventeen years ago) link

I haven't even opened Twilight Princess yet. It's all about ExciteTruck right now. Are any of the other Wii launch games worthwhile?

adam., Tuesday, 28 November 2006 20:26 (seventeen years ago) link

The sports ones are, supposedly

kingfish in absentia (kingfish), Tuesday, 28 November 2006 20:27 (seventeen years ago) link

I will at least try an in-store demo of Red Steel.

nklshs (nklshs), Tuesday, 28 November 2006 20:30 (seventeen years ago) link

I bought it, but haven't played it yet. I heard it's fun.

cousin larry bundgee (bundgee), Tuesday, 28 November 2006 20:38 (seventeen years ago) link

Finished Bully and my first house payment in AC:Wild World.

Marmot (marmotwolof), Tuesday, 28 November 2006 21:14 (seventeen years ago) link

I can't really be bothered with anything right now apart from Pro Evo 6. But I can only play that round at my friend's bit so it's a bit disatisfying. Wake up in the morning with a hankering and he's away at work. Bah.

jim (jim), Tuesday, 28 November 2006 22:01 (seventeen years ago) link

i have been just THIS CLOSE to buying a used ps2 for ever, but now i can't cos it's the holidays and i have shit to buy for, like, other people.

but also, with the magic of emulator freeze states i have been able to BEAT BIONIC COMMANDO.

Kenneth Branagh (gcannon), Tuesday, 28 November 2006 22:08 (seventeen years ago) link

NOW'S YR CHANCE!

nklshs (nklshs), Tuesday, 28 November 2006 22:10 (seventeen years ago) link

I kinda want to get that Bionic Commando/Strider combo that came out for GBA.

JordanC (JordanC), Tuesday, 28 November 2006 22:53 (seventeen years ago) link

I just got told off for wanting an Xbox :(

I'M IN YOUR HOUSE. PLAYING YOUR 360.

jim (jim), Wednesday, 29 November 2006 00:53 (seventeen years ago) link

I want a regular XBox.
So i can set it up to play emulators. Better video connections available.

Geza T (The GZeus), Wednesday, 29 November 2006 03:27 (seventeen years ago) link

I started playing M2TW at last. Much pwnage, but Inquisitors are a right pain in the arse.

Sir Gregory of St.Kitts (g-kit), Wednesday, 29 November 2006 11:03 (seventeen years ago) link

I has got the bairns a DS for chrimbo. Will probably have to wait til mid January before I can play on it without feeling guilty.

Domino Man (Modal Fugue), Wednesday, 29 November 2006 11:04 (seventeen years ago) link

But you bought it?

I want to play Gears of War!

kv_nol (kv_nol), Wednesday, 29 November 2006 11:27 (seventeen years ago) link

Oh, what's this huge blue parcel here? Why, it smells like Guitar Hero 2!

Sir Gregory of St.Kitts (g-kit), Wednesday, 29 November 2006 11:29 (seventeen years ago) link

INVINCIBILITY BRICK UNLOCKED!

Now I can spend hours collecting millions of wee lego credits without worrying about getting shotted. Only got TRUE JEDI on about 15 levels so far, now it'll be a piece of piss.

Haha playing as Teh Emperor pwns. You end up zapping everyone with mad lightning force just so you can hear his mad laugh.

I was dreaming about collecting wee lego credits last night. This is a worrying development. I need to get back to shotting terrist faces.

nu_onimo (nu_onimo), Wednesday, 29 November 2006 12:06 (seventeen years ago) link

NO FUCKING SHIT

Sir Gregory of St.Kitts (g-kit), Wednesday, 29 November 2006 12:07 (seventeen years ago) link

ooh I got Lego Star Wars 2 with the DS. Maybe I can hold out til Boxing Day.

Domino Man (Modal Fugue), Wednesday, 29 November 2006 12:08 (seventeen years ago) link

Haha playing as Teh Emperor pwns. You end up zapping everyone with mad lightning force just so you can hear his mad laugh.

If you change into someone else halfway through his jump attack you go flying through the air. Perfect for all those hard to reach places.

God I love this game. Only 3 gold bricks left to get but I don't really feel like doing all the levels in one fell swoop!

kv_nol (kv_nol), Wednesday, 29 November 2006 12:09 (seventeen years ago) link

I somehow managed to get him spinning upside down light sabring between two objects the other night. I thought he was going to stick like that but he eventually jumped down.

Haven't tried the bounty hunter missions yet, are they any good?

nu_onimo (nu_onimo), Wednesday, 29 November 2006 12:16 (seventeen years ago) link

They're really short. But you got a posse!

Andrew Farrell (afarrell), Wednesday, 29 November 2006 12:25 (seventeen years ago) link

I gotta try me some of this lego star wars action.

ledge (ledge), Wednesday, 29 November 2006 12:30 (seventeen years ago) link

The BH missions are okay... They're not too exciting. A necessary evil perhaps but as Andrew said, you gets a crew for your gattin'!

kv_nol (kv_nol), Wednesday, 29 November 2006 13:35 (seventeen years ago) link

ooh I got Lego Star Wars 2 with the DS.

It sucks, sorry. :( Really buggy and not that fun.

(just the DS version I mean, I haven't played the real version yet)

Jordann, Wednesday, 29 November 2006 14:24 (seventeen years ago) link

i had a quick dabble on my mates headset on Day of Defeat last night, it was giddy and exciting. I'm going to get one!

Ste, Wednesday, 29 November 2006 14:43 (seventeen years ago) link

Ah well, it's for the kids. Their standards are less exacting than mine.

My Mind is Opener than Yours (Modal Fugue), Wednesday, 29 November 2006 14:44 (seventeen years ago) link

i am playing Lego Star Wars 2 but v v slowly. a good game to play to try and get back into games generally for me i think. fun but feels a bit too aimless at times and it seems you have infinite lives by default?

#, Wednesday, 29 November 2006 14:47 (seventeen years ago) link

I'm going to get one!

You seem to say this at least once a week. I hope you never see Melton's photos of his collection!

Stevem you do get infinite lives. The drawback is you lose studs and studs mean prizes!!! Or at least gold bricks.

I love the cut scenes, they have made me smile more often than not!

kv_nol (kv_nol), Wednesday, 29 November 2006 14:51 (seventeen years ago) link

I miss Meltang :(

Headsets ftw! Mine was only like £7, which is a small price to pay to yell "OMFG NOOB!" at people.
I've been playing multiplayer NWN2 with my brother using headsets over XFire. Fucking hilarious!
kit: "k just gonna barkskin us both and cast a few wards and then we can charge them"
kit's bro: "fuck that, i have loads of cure potions, LET'S AVE IT"
*someone casts slay living*
kit's bro: "OMFG RUN AWAY, I'M DOWN"
kit: "lolol i have death ward"
kit's bro: "fuck you"

Headset is also invaluable for re-establishing the crushed morale of the terrorist team on de_dust.
"srsly, just rush A and we'll win. NO STOPPING."

Sir Gregory of St.Kitts (g-kit), Wednesday, 29 November 2006 15:00 (seventeen years ago) link

What did happen to Melton?

Headsets? Has anyone seen that add for Xbox (I think) where someone's eating crisps? Brilliant!

kv_nol (kv_nol), Wednesday, 29 November 2006 15:21 (seventeen years ago) link

I can't make out anything anyone with a headset says on CS - they all sound like Zombie Dave.

ledge (ledge), Wednesday, 29 November 2006 15:29 (seventeen years ago) link

melton got a fkin job and broke his windows drive on his PC.
therefore he isn't playing PC games and is always working nights, so it's rare we even get to chat these days.

Sir Gregory of St.Kitts (g-kit), Wednesday, 29 November 2006 15:31 (seventeen years ago) link

he is a DISPLACED PERSON.

i have bought ps2 games for my boy! I will buy the machine this weekend! I am excited! How hard should I try and hide that this is also a gift for myself?

Poor Teh_kit. I'm sure he'll come back soon. ILX is hard to quit!

Ms Misery, try hard cos the minute he realises you like it too gone are the cuddles on the couch and evenings in front of the tv!

(Cheers nu_onimo!)

kv_nol (kv_nol), Wednesday, 29 November 2006 15:40 (seventeen years ago) link

ILX is hard to quit!

LOLOL. My fondest memory of playing CS:Sauce with Melton was him explaining ILX politics to Darramouss, which ended with Meltang yelling into his mic "... but i don't post on ile BECAUSE IT'S SHIT!"

Sir Gregory of St.Kitts (g-kit), Wednesday, 29 November 2006 15:56 (seventeen years ago) link

hold on, there are video games where you talk to each other?

this is craziness. the last game system I every owned was the nintendo with super mario bros. and duckhunt. what am I getting into?

Ms Misery (MsMisery), Wednesday, 29 November 2006 15:58 (seventeen years ago) link

if "talk to each other" = Melton randomly shouting "WILLY!" while we shot people, then yeah, people talk to each other now.

Sir Gregory of St.Kitts (g-kit), Wednesday, 29 November 2006 16:03 (seventeen years ago) link

hold on, there are video games where you talk to each other?

yes, what Sega and the Simply Red dude failed to realise in their ads was that people had been 'playing together' already for years on PCs.

ste, Wednesday, 29 November 2006 16:09 (seventeen years ago) link

I was at a LAN event and people were talking via headsets to the person sitting next to them.

I usually mute everyone on public servers to save me time working out who is repeatedly shouting "fucking faggots!"
