i would give the last 5 years two thumbs down

way down

i still don't have the timeline and i don't know why

n/a, Friday, 16 December 2011 21:35 (twelve years ago) link

Those of us dorks who enabled the damn thing in October had a lengthy discussion on reg ILX about how to hide stuff and what people can and cannot see. If ILX were here I'd show you. :( It's not as bad as it seems if you already have your privacy controls set to the safer side.

I don't have it either and I'm not sure what I'm supposed to be seeing?

i have 16 more minutes of work and i am hungry

sarahel, Saturday, 17 December 2011 00:45 (twelve years ago) link

Ugh this looks horrible (still don't have it). How is Facebook giving me *deadlines*?!

How is Facebook giving me *deadlines*?!

I KNOW! it's like "don't worry - you have until Dec 23rd to review"

THIS IS A BUSY TIME OF YEAR FOR ME FACEBOOK GODDAMMIT

Z S, Saturday, 17 December 2011 00:53 (twelve years ago) link

same work as always, except today we have a deadline for a new program, and i am sitting here until 5pm in case anyone has any last minute questions.

sarahel, Saturday, 17 December 2011 00:53 (twelve years ago) link

Jenny don't talk like that. Literally every day I hope that you will return, even as a markers-like persona - you were on FB for the reasons we prev discussed.

No pressure. I respect your decision and it's not like I'm aggrieved for something I need; more like I lived a season in Eden and I'm now spoiled.

Sandbox Jesse, Saturday, 17 December 2011 00:54 (twelve years ago) link

I'm looking forward to my timeline becoming available and it will definitely encourage me to use FB way, way more. Honestly this is something I've wanted for a long time.

Sandbox Jesse, Saturday, 17 December 2011 00:57 (twelve years ago) link

Facebook eliminated the public listing of those "not going" to events?

sarahel, Saturday, 17 December 2011 00:57 (twelve years ago) link

that feature was very useful and convenient

sarahel, Saturday, 17 December 2011 00:59 (twelve years ago) link

Hahaha I know, right?

OH GNUS (Pyth), Saturday, 17 December 2011 01:03 (twelve years ago) link

hey, zs, good luck!
and let's hang out soon in case you decide to leave. i'd be jealous. i think i liked chicago better than dc (despite seeing v little of it in 4 days).

tehresa, Saturday, 17 December 2011 03:30 (twelve years ago) link

hey ilx, what do you need?
do you think you'd like to come and bleed with me?

instead of deleting it I 'hid' literally everything from the last uh, 6 years, it took fucking forever but at least I don't have to think about it now

Funny thing. I have a gram scale. I use it to weigh backpacking items and... food!

Aimless, Saturday, 17 December 2011 19:55 (twelve years ago) link

it's really useful for making sure that you have exactly half an ounce of...food!

Z S, Saturday, 17 December 2011 19:57 (twelve years ago) link

When I am backpacking, I prepackage my food by weight. For example, for breakfast I eat exactly 150 grams of granola to which I add 15 grams of non-fat dry milk, which I have stored in... (wait for it)... a Ziploc bag! This makes it easier to ensure I get adequate calories, while not having to carry excess food weight.

I admit this makes me very strange.

Aimless, Saturday, 17 December 2011 20:14 (twelve years ago) link

A police officer would consider possessing a gram scale to be incontrovertible evidence of drug dealing, cuz that's how the police think.

Aimless, Saturday, 17 December 2011 20:17 (twelve years ago) link

I was wondering yesterday why my weed paraphernalia (huh! I did not know that word had an "r" in it!) has become so available in my neighborhood over the last year. Two new "smoke shops" (not head shops - they're not psychedelic and they sell mostly smoking devices and some tobacco) have opened within a few blocks of my home, and a couple of convenience stores opened, which also sell a variety of bongs, pipes, etc.

We're sort of close to DePaul Univ., but it's not a college hood. It's more just yupppie area/Boystown runoff. It seems odd that we've gotten at least 4 new sources of bongs. On top of a couple that were already here.

They seem to be run by swarthy people, so maybe they are legitimately tobacco pipes.

Sandbox Jesse, Saturday, 17 December 2011 20:33 (twelve years ago) link

A friend who was doing Weight Watchers has a gram scale.

you could even use those scales to weigh drugs.

- Sitting here in yesterday's boxer briefs, covered in a fleece blanket
- Ain't done shit today
- It's 2:51 and cloudy, which means it will be dusk in 30 minutes, and dark in 45.

Not complaining about my laziness, but definitely complaining about the fucking eternal dusk.

i went through all of my timeline earlier today and selectively hid things. surprisingly, it didn't take me nearly as long as i thought it would! i've been using facebook more heavily the past 2 months than i ever have, and i guess i forgot that though i've been on it since 2007, i used to post just like one or two things a month, tops.

I came across Skate Bush too on tumblr today, and frankly, I'm surprised there wasn't a chillwave band called Skate Bush already

-most of our income currently comes from scrap metal scrounged from around our property

-gotten some callbacks/emailbacks from jobs but no interviews

-right now, we're ignoring AMC, drinking bourbon-and-cokes, and watching Salty's paws and eyelids quiver as he dreams.
