i'm starting on piece 6 of 8. piece one was a neverending journey. i remember the first bite into the crust, and how hot and undiscovered the rest of the slice was. the steamy heat fogged my contacts and my teeth connected.

- we've lived here almost 10 years now

- was asked this morning by 20+ year friend if I'd consider being a donor because they'd like a baby
- girlfriend FLIPPED THE FUCK OUT when I brought this to her for consideration
- didn't see that coming
- not inclined to donate anyway because friend & husband cut it close financially with the two kids they already have
- this morning has totally sucked from all directions

i got hungry and decided to have an early midnight snack, so i headed downstairs to the kitchen. somehow i returned a minute later with a single slice of swiss cheese. after a really tough personal moment i went back downstairs and now i'm back with a pbj. it's just a pbj, but compared to that lone thin slice of cheese, i feel like a burgeoning chef

i wanted to ask you guys about something. there's this thing involving "seeing air" that's normal to my sister and me, but mystifies everyone else we've ever mentioned it to.

when we were kids, we really thought we could see air, because every once in a while we would see these tiny little shapes in the air, 25% opacity, mainly hovering in one area but occasionally sharply darting around the visual field as if magnets were turning on and off and pulling the air around. but whenever we'd tell anyone about it, they'd have no idea wtf we were talking about. nowadays, i think that what we saw as "air" must have been something on our corneas, tiny but just barely visible since it's actually on the eyeball.

i feel like i sound insane. there's just no way to describe it without sounding goofy.

related: i can't really describe it, but if you flex a certain muscle (it seems to happen automatically sometimes when you yawn) you get a rushing sound in your ears. someone please explain what this is to me

I know what you're talking about, mookieproof. This was happening to me a lot for months after I got a concussion. It would happen when I moved my head fast, and go WOOMP WOOMP WOOMP WOOMP. The otolaryngologist said it was me hearing my pulse in my head, but he didn't explain it much more.

I was just making it happen right now. But now it only happens when I'm actively making it happen.
