ArashMarkazi: Cowboys are 12-9 under Garrett. They've blown a 4th quarter lead in 8 of 9 losses, losing by more than 4 only once.
This has to be one of the most frightening NFL pictures I have seen in a while. It definitely plays into the Mr. Ed comments on Elway back from his playing ways and the answer to why the Bronco's drafted Elway (Answer- he already looks like a horse).

Between 1960-2010, the Cowboys lost two games when they were ahead by at least 12 points in the fourth quarter. This was the third time it’s happened this year.
THE JASON GARRETT ERA

the cowboys find the absolutely most ridiculous ways to lose
i only was able to watch until the end of the 3rd, but yeah it does not surprise me that they lost

rip todd haley; i'll miss you and your filthy mouth
― cad, Monday, 12 December 2011 16:25 (twelve years ago) link
kinda got the short end of the stick imo -- oh well he'll go be an awesome coordinator for someone somewhere
― v-shasty, Monday, 12 December 2011 16:33 (twelve years ago) link
pioli should be suspended by the league for having tyler palko on his team in any capacity, let alone putting him in the position to start three games
Sad about this, u guys.

― Johnny Fever, Monday, 12 December 2011 20:50 (twelve years ago) link
must have been killing the dolphins mgmt to have to wait for a sort-of bad loss to can him
― cad, Monday, 12 December 2011 20:53 (twelve years ago) link
lol. they have no-one to blame but themselves, in that regard.
i think the GM (jeff ireland) has (wisely) been demoted.
― Daniel, Esq., Monday, 12 December 2011 21:26 (twelve years ago) link
has he?
― v-shasty, Monday, 12 December 2011 21:48 (twelve years ago) link
funny thing is that ireland actually made some pretty good moves this year, but he's done some pretty unforgivable stuff
― v-shasty, Monday, 12 December 2011 21:49 (twelve years ago) link
i don't think either sparano and haley necessarily showed any signs that they were great coaches in the making, but i don't think either of them were helped much by their GMs. miami have more to work with going forward. KC have a few isolated prime pieces on both sides of the ball but what seems like a pretty low average talent level otherwise. if they really bring in josh mcd i think in a couple of years neither he nor pioli will be living in MO

i would say that the dolphins are prob in better position solely for not having $55m committed to matt caseell
otoh chiefs division is much easier to win in
― v-shasty, Tuesday, 13 December 2011 00:18 (twelve years ago) link
If the Dolphins had had a real coach all season they'd be over .500.
― Matt Armstrong, Tuesday, 13 December 2011 00:30 (twelve years ago) link
Seriously how many games did they lose in pitful fashion because of Sparano being an idiot?
probably less than you think but still too many
― v-shasty, Tuesday, 13 December 2011 00:40 (twelve years ago) link
okay I am somewhere where fox news is on and this line was just uttered:
"can the president learn from tebow about the power of prayer"

dude next time just use that for your bar trivia team name, do not write a column on it
― daria, Tuesday, 13 December 2011 04:06 (twelve years ago) link
Tebow is not even close to the most physically talented quarterback in the NFL (and he probably isn’t even the most physically talented quarterback on his own team), but he has taken a team sitting in the cellar and lifted it up to playoff contention.
uh you are an idiot who knows nothing about football
― cad, Tuesday, 13 December 2011 04:07 (twelve years ago) link
also rip todd haley ;_;

lol apparently one reason haley got fired was he wasn't putting in the hours expected of an nfl head coach.
just saving his energy to cuss on game day.

lol my twitter is freaking out
― v-shasty, Tuesday, 13 December 2011 04:20 (twelve years ago) link
Guys, watching the Rams play the Seahawks really makes you appreciate the ability to follow a team that is competent at football. Dear Lord, that last Rams Red Zone drive, just...I don't even know
― C-L, Tuesday, 13 December 2011 04:21 (twelve years ago) link
Like I mention way too often, though, whenever the MNF guys openly mock the game they're watching, it is one of my favorite things on TV.
― C-L, Tuesday, 13 December 2011 04:23 (twelve years ago) link
oh no chucky talking about tebow

that was definitely worth watching the 4th quarter of this game for

So far the Bill Belichick coaching tree doesn't look too hot at this point, not one of them has had much success.

belichicks success has been more abt a complete organizational approach prob more than any other supercoach ever - thats harder to take w/you than like a defensive philosophy or w/e
― Cooper Chucklebutt, Tuesday, 13 December 2011 04:53 (twelve years ago) link
i do find it kinda lol to watch his proteges fail for whatever reason, like picture him in his office cackling burning pictures of them mumbling did you really think id give you my secret formula
