they showed another dude in a fireman hat and instead of booing he was just doing a full, red-faced monologue of anger at gabbert
― Matt Armstrong, Tuesday, 6 December 2011 04:10 (twelve years ago) link
wow do chucky & jaws actually hate each other
jaws reminiscing on when he took a hit from lawrence taylor and made the play, when the best moment is seeing your wide receiver running downfield
chucky: 'man i love those highlights of lawrence taylor'
― daria, Tuesday, 6 December 2011 04:14 (twelve years ago) link
gabbert is gonna be the worst QB from this recent class, right?

he really needs to get over being spooked by any and all nfl pass rushes
― cad, Tuesday, 6 December 2011 04:15 (twelve years ago) link
i think part of his problem at missouri is that so much of their offense involves quick passes from the shotgun and so the qb rarely gets touched
― v-shasty, Tuesday, 6 December 2011 04:16 (twelve years ago) link
gabbert literally just dropped the ball as he was running with it
― cad, Tuesday, 6 December 2011 04:17 (twelve years ago) link
wow gabbert just straight up drops the football for no reason
― daria, Tuesday, 6 December 2011 04:18 (twelve years ago) link
that and the worst snap anyone has ever seen.. and we still have 6 min of football left
― daria, Tuesday, 6 December 2011 04:19 (twelve years ago) link
wtf blaine
― Matt Armstrong, Tuesday, 6 December 2011 04:19 (twelve years ago) link
the jags two longest pass plays were a shovel pass to mjd and a pass that was completed to an eligible lineman
― cad, Tuesday, 6 December 2011 04:20 (twelve years ago) link
I'm pretty sure this happened on this drive:Gabbert rolls out, screen isn't there, so Gabbert just dumps the ball into the ground despite facing no pressure.
― Matt Armstrong, Tuesday, 6 December 2011 04:21 (twelve years ago) link
it's better than dropping it? he did that too
― daria, Tuesday, 6 December 2011 04:22 (twelve years ago) link
maybe he's protesting the firing of jack del rio?
― v-shasty, Tuesday, 6 December 2011 04:23 (twelve years ago) link
I think he just presumed that nothing was there so a sack must have been forthcoming, let's end this play asap
― Matt Armstrong, Tuesday, 6 December 2011 04:25 (twelve years ago) link
i didn't know jaws was third on the qb consecutive start list!
― cad, Tuesday, 6 December 2011 04:27 (twelve years ago) link
Jaws was a pretty good QB.

Tom Brady? He'll kill ya. If he catches you half asleep,he'll punch you right in the face with the stretch -- he'llhand the ball to Woodhead, or Green-Ellis, or Ridley, orFaulk. Guys aren't ready. They're not ready. He'll do it fiveplays in a row, on national TV, in front of the world. And heloves nothing more than humiliating you. Because I knowthis: he humiliated me. It's a hell of a system they have, and he is the greatest trigger of our lifetime. Look at him! He's snapping these plays off before the Jets are ready. You can be as multiple as you want on defense, but, whenyou play Tom Brady, he regulates you. He turns you into[whispered] trash.

he'll be back coaching by 2013 if not sooner. He's sublimating the hell out of his need to coach with the amt of prep he puts into MNF.

if he really has "the need to coach" i'm sure like half the teams in the league would want to hire him, including one that's about to get THIS GUY Andrew Luck

@davehydesports Dave Hyde -- Archie Manning says obvious: Peyton and Andrew Luck on same team isn't, "great for either one." Believe me now? Peyton will be available?
hear me now and believe me later.

Colts absolutely should trade Peyton if they know what's good for them
― WE KILL BRONIES (Rolo Tony), Tuesday, 6 December 2011 22:30 (twelve years ago) link
they know what's good for them! that's why they're determined to go 0 -- 16.

i think they know that
― v-shasty, Tuesday, 6 December 2011 22:31 (twelve years ago) link
they can probably ease up and win a game. the other hopefuls already screwed-up, in reverse, by winning one or two (or four, in the case of one woebegotten franchise) by now.

wouldn't it make sense to keep peyton around a year or two and make sure a. luck's gonna make it in the pros b. he 'learns from the best'? seems a bit risky to trade one of the best qbs of all time w/o having that insurance. I mean no matter what happens, if you had to make a bet 'who's more likely to win a super bowl within the next 5 years, manning or luck', manning's still a safer bet.
― iatee, Wednesday, 7 December 2011 05:09 (twelve years ago) link
I guess one counterargument is 'isn't peyton gonna catch on to this' which I think can be prevented if the colts make sure peyton is doing commercial shoots w/ literally every free moment of his time
― iatee, Wednesday, 7 December 2011 05:12 (twelve years ago) link
I think Luck would have better luck learning from a good QB coach than a guy who's going to fight him for playing time until his dying breath. I don't think Peyton's going to be a good coach until he's not playing anymore, and maybe not even then. I could see him being the worst kind of micromanaging coach.
― William (C), Wednesday, 7 December 2011 05:12 (twelve years ago) link
I guess. I'm sorta seeing this as a favre/rodgers parallel, which worked out pretty well for the packers, but I guess 'favre's gonna retire' was always in the air and 'manning's gonna retire' is not. a situation where a top nfl qb gets years to study and develop w/o pressure doesn't happen too often...
― iatee, Wednesday, 7 December 2011 05:19 (twelve years ago) link
I guess it woulda been perfect if this happened 3 years from now
