I'm seriously dismayed at the orange-ness of the "red" paint I just put on one window-frame. Trying to decide whether to do 2nd coat and see if the color firms up, or just go back and buy a quart of another color. Damn.

HEY I JUST RE-HUNG MY SHOWER CURTAINS AND AM ABOUT TO USE THEM!!!!! First shower in over a week. Maybe 10 days??
I, er...
ah...should I confess this, or not? Well, here goes....
I've been taking a shower only once every 3-4 days for the last few months. And I sleep in my clothes. I need a job or a reason to meet with people regularly, quick, before I turn into Pigpen.

Speaking of which, I found the bag of greenery that I lost a while back. Might have some tomorrow or the next day. Now if I could find my missing cell phone, everything would be much, much better.

every time i see that kind of thing i just feel so terrible. cats especially but birds, deer, raccoons. a squirrel was dead on the bike path i run on. it was totally intact. i always think its family is going to be wondering about it and they'll be sad and their brains can't comprehend what happened its just unexplained suffering. i also hit a bird with my car and saw in my mirror it was fluttering its wings weakly as it hit the road life is so sadxpost

There was a cat the other day spawled on a foothpath near my place that was... dreadfully still, and my bf said "oh yeah that cat was there when I came up here on the way to yr house" which was even more WTF, I was like "ARE YOU SURE ITS NOT DEAD FFS", it was just kind of lying there, middle of the pavement. He said it was just sleeping and he'd patted it earlier. It looked pretty immobile to me, and it was STILL there when we came back past a couple hours later. It is going to bug me forever not knowing if it was ok or not.

In other news I wish secrette 77 tchr thread existed too bcz today was a whopper. The part I can say is I was trying to get rid of a urine-soaked notebook and during this quest I ran into the vice prncpl. I was in panic mode so instead of being discrete I asked, "Where can I throw away this notebook? It has urine on it." His reaction made me feel awful. I have tried to console myself by saying if another school asks about me (during hiring) and this story is retoldand that school chooses not to hire methen I don't want to work for that schoolI want to work for a school where they view getting rid of a urine-soaked notebook as a problem that needs to be solvednot where trying to throw one away is met with 'ewww you are grossing me out'you have to handle them to get rid of themI want to work for someone who thinks that is trueI did not soil the notebookI am probably overreacting to thisso many things happened today but that notebook was really #1 weirdest

i think your way of thinking about this incident is correct and also eff that dude imo.
Good parts:- I was nice to the kid who had the notebook and solved the problem quickly- None of the other students knew what had happened or complained about the smell I am just so neurotic about dealing with stinky objects –– I also understand urine is unhealthy and odious on a non-smell level, but the VP was really giving me a hard time about willingly handling something so stinky. I could keep saying a lot of things about how & why but it's been this bad feeling I can't shake all day.

^^^this is the whole game afaic. also i hope this doesn't weird you out but i was idly thinking today what a great teacher you must be.

hi heaventyheaven
abbott i find it hard to believe a urine soaked notebook isnt a common occurrence in a school. maybe VP had other troubles on her mind and just didnt want to deal with it. what was her reaction btw?
― kamb, Wednesday, 7 December 2011 01:15 (twelve years ago) link
also i had some unpleasant run-ins with the principal at my first student teaching placement last year and they felt awful in the thick of teaching, when i could hardly catch a breath to get some perspective but now that that intensity is over i can see that she was just miserable. it makes me mad that she had that job, but it didn't affect me in the longterm.
― horseshoe, Wednesday, 7 December 2011 01:21 (twelve years ago) link

I'm imagining you standing there stuck holding this urine soaked item while the vp hassles you endlessly about "Why are you holding a urine soaked item?" The answer being, "Because you won't shut up and let me go dispose of it!"
