totally shitty mood despite pleasant hours with an ilx user
was supposed to have a 'date' tomorrow; canceled it
missing kitty
basically only want to sleep and drink with intermittent periods of self-loathing
fuckin smiths on random
― mookieproof, Friday, 2 December 2011 04:18 (twelve years ago) link
<3. Smiths on random is the only way to go. Or for me it works to go to bed with a book (fiction) and intersperse crying and reading.

maybe one song has been getting me through the past five months, I can't say
divorce sucks. sorry to all fellow ilxors dealing with it.
i can't count how many times i listened to "it ain't me babe" on repeat (both dylan & nancy sinatra versions)
― sarahel, Friday, 2 December 2011 04:28 (twelve years ago) link
:-/ sorry mookie. do you know what triggered the bad mood?
― Z S, Friday, 2 December 2011 04:28 (twelve years ago) link
YES Abbott - that is THE song.

10,000 songs on shuffle and 'i know it's over' came up
pretenders now tho
― mookieproof, Friday, 2 December 2011 04:39 (twelve years ago) link
it's true though -- i *am* sleeping; i do not want to believe
Once I went to a Smiths opera, a dead serious one. Watching them do Rubber Ring was jawdropping.
― ljubljana, Friday, 2 December 2011 04:52 (twelve years ago) link
oh abbott, oh mookie, i wish i could give you hugs right now! tho i know that wld not solve much but it wld be nice probably
and they wld be good hugs too because my arms are getting super strong from The Climbing! also, i think i have enough endorphins for all these days... i went climbing again tonight and did routes that were tough for me, a relative beginner (5.7s/5.8s/attempted 5.9), including slight overhangs, which previously had freaked me out, but today it was like, okay, rest, breathe, DO IT. yaay :) climbing is a metaphor for lyfe for me right now. (i promise not to constantly talk about it when in NYC next week tho, haha)so. tired!
― rrrobyn, Friday, 2 December 2011 05:12 (twelve years ago) link
When I get in a bad or depressed mood, there is absolutely nothing in the world that can change it. Booze and drugs keeps me in the same mood that I was in beforehand, and so does music, comedy, talking to people about my problems, etc. All I can do is wait in agony for the pain to go away.
My sympathies to Mookie and all of you that are having problems.

job interview in 2 hours! it's the first round of a two round process, a skype interview, and i'm in my room at home. i'm never hear during the day, so i didn't realize how loud the construction is across the street! and it's just as loud throughout the house, no matter where i go. to counter this, i've positioned my mattress across the doorway to block out the noise. it's working, but when combined with my new room layout (i had to move the desk around so that there's a blank wall behind me for the webcam instead of the various ridiculous things i have hanging up) i feel like i'm in a david lynch movie.
― Z S, Friday, 2 December 2011 13:59 (twelve years ago) link
i'm never hear!
aw gawd, i'm screwed
moment at which you accidentally jog the computer, repositioning it to reveal that you have blocked sunlight from your apartment with a mattress. "oh that? sure yeah i just LIKE TO KEEP THE NOISE OUT"
you'll be fine!, the idea of a skype interview blows my mind but i can think of notable advantages, eg you do not have to wear trousers
― Never translate German (schlump), Friday, 2 December 2011 14:10 (twelve years ago) link
haha, this is my first one (and hopefully last - i'd prefer in person, and if i make it through this first round the final interview will be in person in either Chicago or Brooklyn), so yeah it's gonna be a little weird! i am, however going to wear nice pants and shoes and the rest, just to get myself into the full work mindset as much as i can.

― Sad Banter (p much resigned to deems), Friday, 2 December 2011 14:19 (twelve years ago) link
I've been overwhelmingly sad and anxious lately and it's been tough. I'm concentrating on the little things like today being Friday and the fact that I'm getting a massage tomorrow morning. I did something to my back/neck a week ago - over a week ago - and have been in agony ever since so tomorrow morning can't come soon enough imo.

xp Also, you may have to get up for some reason during the interview, or they may make up some reason for you to get up so that they will know that you are "detail-oriented" and all that rot.

i always feel like there's this mutual awareness of the performative, pantomime element that is going on, something that could at any moment be ruptured by you breaking the fourth wall & saying CMON YOU KNOW I JUST WANT THIS, I ACTUALLY REALLY JUST WANT THIS JOB + COULD DO IT TOTALLY
― Never translate German (schlump), Friday, 2 December 2011 16:49 (twelve years ago) link
you try to imbue your answers with that subtext like it's pictionary or something but it's incredibly frustrating to have to tip-toe around the kind of useful/sentimental/enthusiastic declarations that might actually offer some insight into yr reasoning
