He's an utter dick! An addict deliberately getting an alcoholic drunk? I think he's a great character.
I also went back and checked the logo on the runners. Not Dharma.
Lolz@ fake London, with its lobsters on the pier, and its posters for the Scots Brigade calling all and sundry to fight with HONOR (and American guns).
STILL NOT ENOUGH SAYID, FUCKOS!
Maybe have been drinking.

Couple of stupid cock-ups on the British front, though. Wouldn't Desmond actor have said "Eerr... we wouldn't have posters like that and we certainly wouldn't spell 'Honour' that way" to the props people?? Oh well.

this episode was quite ridiculous but good I guess, tho the scene with the old woman was a little too crazy maybe. also why did getting hit with the bat send him back to the island?

Nobody ever listens to me. Sigh.
I agree though, that the not-quite-rightness of the London scenes made for a lovely kind of fever dream. Poor Desmond. I really like him, and he is an excellent foil for Charlie, really.

this ep really wasn't that revealing!
they made a lot of the ring going in the river. maybe hobbit boy will go after it/it'll turn up on the beach. also the jom robinson/deezy thing is a bit too much like the jin/sun thing, no?

watch that scene again. as soon as Des looks away from the painting, it is GONE. unsure whether this intentional or just a horizontal flip of the film for some reason, but it disappears as soon as it cuts to the next shot.

what is a beermat?
Okay, a coaster. I wikied it.
Some beermats are collectible items. Tegestology is a latin term defined as the practice of collecting beermats or coasters, with practitioners known as tegestologists Collecting beermats is an especially popular hobby in Germany. There is an international collector's association called IBV in Germany since 1958. The British Beermat Collectors Society was founded shortly afterwards in 1960 and currently has around 300 members spread around the world. Like the IBV, it organizes regular meetings for collectors and also publishes a monthly newsletter. Other notable clubs associated with tegestology include the South Australian Coaster Collectors Club and New South Wales Coaster Collectors Club. There are many subcategories of tegestologists, including those who are solely interested in porcelain or other specific kinds of beermats.

I think Charlie is going to die, but we'll spend the whole season waiting for it to happen.
Also, am I the only one who finds Claire's story really interesting? There's still that whole thing about the baby being special - and I'm assuming the psychic dude in the first series was experiencing the same phenomenon as Desmond?
Hurley appears to have got over his girlfriend dying like way quickly. Isn't it about three or four days?

surely just equally bad.
perhaps Charlie will accept his fate and go on a kamikaze mission to rescue Jack/some other herculean task to benefit everyone else.

That would be pretty great. Though I suppose it would take some more convincin by way of near-misses that Desmond saves him from. And then maybe the mission would serve a redemptive function and he would survive. Though he already very flagrantly cheated death one time (the hanging episode).
