because some things don't have a place and so need a place but it should be a place everyone can see

my friend kyle sent me a picture of a bug he captured in his kitchen, i think it's brilliant

estela, Wednesday, 24 June 2009 14:20 (sixteen years ago)

EB brought me an ad for "loungers," she said it made her think of me. wtf?

(for those of you who don't know, a lounger is basically a polyester muumuu, but i've just dubbed it a "summer slanket.")

lxy, Wednesday, 24 June 2009 15:06 (sixteen years ago)

the fucking neighbors are doing thursday night sing-song again and some terrible singer girl is doing that one indigo girls song, and when i say terrible i mean TERRIBLE.

lxy, Friday, 3 July 2009 04:55 (sixteen years ago)

fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck i can even hear her from indoors. now she's singing some goddamn simon and garfunkle bullshit.

those people make me hate everything.

lxy, Friday, 3 July 2009 05:00 (sixteen years ago)

omg that is horrible. tell them to take it to a karaoke bar jeeeeze

tehersa (tehresa), Friday, 3 July 2009 05:03 (sixteen years ago)

i think it's stopped. thank fuck.

those people are such assholes. i'd rather have breakfast with 10 loud chewers than have breakfast with them.

they're all "ooh we have nice people over and do sing-alongs and use cloth shopping bags and we belong to the neighborhood committee" and yet they never never never even acknowledge their actual neighbors.

except, that is, the day the man came snooping around to see what i was painting (though he didn't even care once he found out), and then it came out that he thought i'd just moved in. 12 years, dickhead. i've lived here 12 fucking years you self-involved prisspot.

and since then he's gone right back to ignoring me.

lxy, Friday, 3 July 2009 05:37 (sixteen years ago)

(lol at me, they piss me off so much i get all up in arms every time i think about them.)

lxy, Friday, 3 July 2009 05:38 (sixteen years ago)

take a deep breath and do your best not to bludgeon your neighbor to death with his own "welcome friends" door plaque.

I don't have any hard feelings toward the type of neighbors who have very little interaction with you because they're intensely private/shy. but these people sound like the smuggest, most self-congratulatory bastahds on earth, so I feel for you.

unregistered, Friday, 3 July 2009 06:01 (sixteen years ago)

lxy, i can come over and set some booby traps if you want. they'll never know who it was!

tehersa (tehresa), Friday, 3 July 2009 06:03 (sixteen years ago)

yes, ur, that's exactly what they are. well stated.

t, if they got booby trapped one of their song-singing friends would probably organize some motherfucking goddamn candle-in-the-window/flag-at-half-mast/potluck-at-the-turnaround kind of bullshit, so best leave them to their healthy tediousness, i think.

but thank you for your support!

lxy, Friday, 3 July 2009 06:16 (sixteen years ago)

i was leaving for my evening promenade and saw some ladies walk by with balloons and thought, hey, that's nice! and then when i went outside they had left them by my front door!

spite n ease (harbl), Friday, 3 July 2009 12:59 (sixteen years ago)

lxy, Friday, 3 July 2009 14:13 (sixteen years ago)

they do sell gin at safeway in CA

safeway in cali is called Vons iirc. it is a shitty store and i never go there. i buy my gin @ trader joe's - 18.99 for 750ml of tanq/bombay sapphire. my wife started drinking gin again so i go thru 1 1/2 bottles per week

i do 100% of the grocery shopping in my family. my kids always misbehave in supermarkets though, i don't see what the excitement factor is for them but they try my patience (which is admittedly pretty poor)

t. silaviver, Saturday, 4 July 2009 12:04 (sixteen years ago)

on the other hand, i hate shopping in drug stores and my wife loves them (stereotypical girlie thing?)

t. silaviver, Saturday, 4 July 2009 12:05 (sixteen years ago)

how old are your kids, revivalis.t?

estela, Saturday, 4 July 2009 12:11 (sixteen years ago)

i was SO bad in the grocery store when i was a kid. my brother was worse though. also we always made my mom buy us a donut.

spite n ease (harbl), Saturday, 4 July 2009 12:16 (sixteen years ago)

we were never allowed to go inside, we had to wait in the car.

estela, Saturday, 4 July 2009 12:21 (sixteen years ago)

sometimes my brother would refuse to go inside so he waited in the car and my mom would say "you're gonna get stolen. good."

spite n ease (harbl), Saturday, 4 July 2009 12:23 (sixteen years ago)

one time my brother released the hand brake and we were rolling down a hilly street towards another car all screaming with excitement but then a man we knew was going by and he saw what was happening so he opened the door and put on the brake.

estela, Sunday, 5 July 2009 04:01 (sixteen years ago)

i used to teach 3 and 4 year olds. the idea that they will listen to what an adult says, let alone DO what an adult says, is pretty lollable

jergins, Sunday, 5 July 2009 04:12 (sixteen years ago)

i'm sure they'll become very good listeners once they become school-aged

lxy, Sunday, 5 July 2009 04:22 (sixteen years ago)

actually when i worked w the lil ones for schooltime at the arts center, i found the 3-6 year olds were super well behaved. older than that you start having to restrain yourself from wanting to shake the little smug, satisfied grins off their faces.

tehersa (tehresa), Sunday, 5 July 2009 04:24 (sixteen years ago)

when my nephew was three and in my charge he stole a packet of tic tacs and hid them in the tiny pocket of his tiny shorts, they fitted exactly, but i caught him because he rattled when we ran and when i said, wherever did those come from, he said, the fat boy at the shop gave them to me, and then our friend who was visiting from london turned glum and said, i was the fat boy at my parents' shop.

estela, Sunday, 5 July 2009 04:35 (sixteen years ago)

do you know where i can get a house-husband

spite n ease (harbl), Sunday, 5 July 2009 23:37 (sixteen years ago)

i am asking because i am on a campaign to stop people ironing. if enough people refuse to iron maybe they will stop producing clothes that require ironing because is there anything more useless and backward and frustrating than ironing

spite n ease (harbl), Sunday, 5 July 2009 23:41 (sixteen years ago)

i'm not sure i follow your reasoning. will your house-husband wage this campaign for you? or will he do your ironing while you wage the campaign yourself? what will you do with him once you've put sunbeam out of business?

i kind of like ironing.

lxy, Sunday, 5 July 2009 23:47 (sixteen years ago)

oh i meant xp
i don't really have a campaign i just hate ironing

spite n ease (harbl), Sunday, 5 July 2009 23:58 (sixteen years ago)

cooking i'm sort of neutral on - when i feel relaxed and have lots of free time i enjoy it, but as a daily chore i hate it

estela, Monday, 6 July 2009 03:14 (sixteen years ago)

we should plan a sandbox fap. in baltimore lol

did we not do this? i see how important i am.

i wanted to say:

  • i love cooking
  • i hate ironing and it weirds me out when boys iron more than me (which is also like, job interviews lol)
  • something else i forgot

tehersa (tehresa), Monday, 6 July 2009 09:56 (sixteen years ago)

i remembered:*

  • as my age advances, i have become increasingly concerned about tidiness in my home space. the reason i remembered this was bc my friend is visiting and i think it is grace training or something because i am constantly being tested to keep cool in the face of domestic disasters such as: spadgetty sauce all over my stove (ay!!!!) and like,is it that hard to wipe up the water you splash all over the bathroom sink that i cleaned before your arrival?
  • harbl, i also find bathtub cleaning cathartic! in fact, even in my younger, messier days, bathtubs and toilets were the things i always insisted remained clean (a good thing, i think).
  • not having a tv but still being unemployed makes me miss being able to watch the martha show at 11am every morning.
*this remembrance brought on by washing dishes at 3:30 bc i couldn't rightly go to sleep knowing my kitchen was a mess.

tehersa (tehresa), Monday, 6 July 2009 10:38 (sixteen years ago)

so the store where i mostly work doesn't have a break room; instead, it has a bathroom with a cushion on the floor (and it only has the cushion because i brought it in). yesterday the girl that came to relieve me needed to use the bathroom while i was about halfway through my lunch break. i come back in and she has taken a HUGE DUMP, completely stunk out the tiny bathroom and then tried to cover over it with this even more horrendous-smelling cinnamon air freshner. i almost gagged. then when i eventually had to use the toilet i discovered she'd also left big skidmarks.

but something tells me that is not the case w/ these fine young criminals.

te,he (tehresa), Friday, 17 July 2009 00:28 (sixteen years ago)

Thirty men crashed a Euclid Avenue house party early Sunday morning and became violent and destructive when they were told to leave, one of the homes' residents said. The 26-year-old resident said that at about 1:15 a.m., several SUVs and other cars pulled up to his residence, and about 30 men exited the vehicles. As they approached the house, some guests confronted them to ask who they knew at the party, but they apparently did not know anyone. Even though they were told to go away, the men went into the party anyway. A few minutes later an altercation ensued, and as the men were leaving, they threw large rocks at the house, breaking the kitchen window. One man picked up a grill and smashed another back window at the house before fleeing. The residence and partygoers did not record the vehicles' license plate numbers.

i like to put yogurts and fruits in the blender and i just ruined one and wasted a mango by accidentally throwing a peach pit in there and i drank some of it before i realized. peach pits contain cyanide. am i gonna die?

I love to put lemon and lime peels in the garbage disposal because grinding them releases a lovely citrus fragrance but once I didn't realize and some tamarind seeds got down there and it made very sad sounds but I think it's feeling better now.

te,he (tehresa), Thursday, 23 July 2009 20:53 (sixteen years ago)

your garbage disposal /= harbs' stomach

jergins, Thursday, 23 July 2009 20:54 (sixteen years ago)

harbl, you could take some vitamin B12 as a precaution. But I think you would have to eat a big handful of peach seeds to really have a Mr. Yuck-level problem.

love to put lemon and lime peels in the garbage disposal because grinding them releases a lovely citrus fragrance

this is my favorite part of the day after a night of excessive gin+tonics. Once the hangover is blunted enough the noise is not a factor anymore.

jaq, Thursday, 23 July 2009 21:20 (sixteen years ago)

yeah after i dumped it down the drain i realized the pit didn't even really get chopped up. the inside of it was exposed and it tasted kind of bitter but i think i won't end up going into a coma after all

maybe there should be a subtle sandbox/1p3 war that is so subtle only the sandbox knows it is even happening; the sandbox army should be excruicatingly polite as it goes about its barbed business. the main trouble with this idea is that i like 1p3 so i could end up switching sides and then in the end everyone will turn on me and i will have to move to the cape which has its moments but not enough.

Moderation outsourcing services will continue to grow, predicts Jeremiah Owyang, an analyst specializing in online customer service with the Altimeter Group.

But, he says, "expect emerging markets like India and the Philippines to offer services to brands direct, with retrained call center staff."

"There's a huge surge of companies coming into this market offshore" charging clients $5 an hour, versus the $30 to $40 eModeration does, says Littleton.

A case that haunts me is one of our oldest, unsolved cases from 1977. It’s a case with a twist: we don’t know who the victim is. We know who killed her and how he killed her. We arrested him and he did his time and is out of prison. He has even worked with detectives to try to raise public awareness about the case so we can identify her. Right now, she’s still Jane Doe – a 15 to 21-year- old female, 5 feet 10 inches tall and 155 pounds.

This review is from: Yamaha NS-B310BL Full-Range Acoustic Suspension Bookshelf Speaker - Each (Black) (Electronics)
MY NAME IS DOUG AND I AM A MAJOR COLLECTOR OF 120 SETS OF VINTAGE SPEAKERS AND 30 VINTAGE STEREOS. I'VE TRASH MANY FROM TRIAL AND TRIBULATION AND KNOWLEDGE !! SEVERAL ARE FULLRANGE WITH 6.5 INCH OR 8 INCH WOOFERS IN THEM. BIG FULL , RICH CLEAR,SOUND IN A LOT BIGGER BOXES IN WHICH FULL RANGE WOOFERS NEED TO PREFORM CORRECTLY !!!! I CAN'T BELIEVE THAT YOU WOULD PUT A PRICE OF $149 A PIECE FOR SUPER TINY SPEAKERS. THAT'S OVER $300 FOR TOY SPEAKERS !!! WERE IN A DEPRESSION AND WITH THESE SPEAKERS YOU WILL BE FORCED TO BUY A SUBWOOFER TO OBTAIN ANY BASS !!!! MY SPEAKERS HAVE IT ALL !! BASS, OWESOME MIDRANGE, AND HIGH RANGE UP TO 20,000 HZ. THE SPEAKER BOXES AVERAGE 1500 - 1750 CUBIC SQUARE INCHES WHICH TRANSLATES TO A SPEAKER BOX MEASURING ABOUT 19 X 11 X 7 DEEP OR BIGGER. LET ME TELL YOU WITH ONLY 2 OF MY VINTAGE SPEAKERS AT A TIME WILL BLOW YOUR MIND IN SOUND, IMAGING, BASS, MIDRANGE, HIGH FREQ , !!! THEY CAN FILL A LARGE ROOM WITH RICH SUPER CLEAR SOUND. YOU DON'T NEED 6-7 SPEAKERS TO DO THAT !! YOU JUST NEED THE RIGHT SPEAKERS AND THE RIGHT SIZES FOR YOUR LISTENING ROOM !!! YES IT'S CONSIDERED STEREO SOUND AND IT'S NOT TOTAL SURROUND SOUND EFFECTS. BUT IT STILL SOUNDS AMAZING. I WOULD LOVE TO SEE AMAZON COME OUT WITH A AFFORDABLE LARGER SIZE FULL RANGE SPEAKERS WITH A 6.5 INCH WOOFERS OR BETTER YET 8 INCH FULL RANGE SPEAKERS IN THEM !!! THEN YOU WOULD UNDERSTAND WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT !! THAT'S WHY THERE'S NO COMMENTS ON THIS SITE FOR THESE SPEAKERS !!! NOBODY IS BUYING THEM!!! TO PRICEY AND ANY GUY LIKE ME WHO HAS THE KNOWLEDGE OF FULL RANGE WOOFERS AND SPEAKERS. THEY'LL NEVER BUY THESE SPEAKERS. THERE JUST REALLY SATELITES AND THAT'S IT !!!! GET SOME BIGGER FULL RANGE REAL SPEAKERS AND YOU'LL SELL MILLIONS OF THEM AMAZON !!! I LOVE YOU AMAZON, BUT YOU'VE GOT IT WRONG WITH THIS PRODUCT, BAD !!! THANKS: DOUG THE VINTAGE COLLECTOR

three weeks pass...

we have an outoftown guest visiting. he's very wonderful but i 'm cold and drunk and tired and... it's hard to be a good host sometimes.

lxy, Monday, 23 January 2012 05:39 (fourteen years ago)

my dear dear friend {{{you}}}

jaq, Monday, 23 January 2012 14:28 (fourteen years ago)

aw, thank you, jaq.

i think i pulled it off without being too graceless.

i am outraged, on account of the terrible guy referenced above. he moved to a new office (which is wonderful), but before leaving he sent a gushing email about how there was such a surplus in the coffee fund, so there was $100 worth of coffee/sugar/creamer and coffee would be free for the foreseeable future. then he abolished the coffee donation program and jacked almost all of the supplies when he left.

my blood is boiling.

lxy, Wednesday, 30 May 2012 16:26 (fourteen years ago)

what a complete fucking dick.

lxy, Wednesday, 30 May 2012 16:26 (fourteen years ago)

i hate him so so so much.

lxy, Wednesday, 30 May 2012 16:27 (fourteen years ago)

i would chase him

chase him to his stupid new office, then yell at him, and steal back the coffee supplies, although technically it wouldn't be stealing bc they are not his.

Defendant was convicted of bastardy. The Criminal Court of Baltimore, S. Ralph Warnken, J., entered judgment adverse to defendant, and he appealed. The Court of Appeals, Hammond, J., held that where Criminal Court could properly have found, as it did, from evidence of witnesses other than mother of child and her husband that mother and her husband did not have intercourse at time when, under the laws of nature, the child must have been conceived, mother was competent to testify that she had had relations with defendant, that he was the father of the child, what he said and did after he knew that she was pregnant, and her reasons and her husband's reasons for marrying.

spite n ease (harbl), Wednesday, 29 June 2016 01:46 (nine years ago)

i said well, this group of friends (tbf i used the word 'coterie'; i was drunk) i'm in is kinda obsessed with the faroes, but you have to learn faroese and i don't think just looming and bellowing 'ach!' are gonna cut it

now he seems vaguely worried that i've joined a cult
